To better introduce the diversity of Indonesian culture and at the same time strengthen Indonesia's presence in Japanese society, especially the younger generation, The Indonesian Embassy in Tokyo, Japan, invited 141 second grade students of Elementary School - Daisan Hino to visit the Indonesian Embassy Building in Tokyo on Thursday (14/11/2024). The visit of the Elementary School students of Daisan Hino was accompanied by the Principal, Satoru Matsumoto, and 7 accompanying teachers.

Welcoming the arrival of the Elementary School students of Daisan Hino, Indonesian Ambassador to Japan, Heri Akhmadi, introduced the geographical location and diverse cultures of Indonesia. Ambassador Heri showed various ornaments on the upper part of the building lobby with Batik Parang motifs, as a medium to introduce Indonesia to Japanese children.

On that occasion, the Indonesian Embassy in Tokyo displayed a replica of a Komodo measuring almost 2 meters, and received very enthusiastic attention from the students.

In an official statement, Ambassador Heri Akhmadi said, Indonesia is a very beautiful country and rich in flora and fauna. Indonesia also has a variety of cultures from each region.

He also invited the students to spread stories about the beauty of Indonesia to the people in Japan. He even allowed the children to write stories about Indonesia to friends who could not attend the Indonesian Embassy in Tokyo.

Ambassador Heri said this activity was intended to introduce Indonesia from an early age to the future generation of Japan. He hopes this effort can instill good memories in students about Indonesia when they hold strategic positions in government, business, and socio-cultural institutions, which will be useful for strengthening relations between the two countries.

According to him, the Indonesian Embassy in Tokyo views diplomacy as not only discussing the present, but must also prepare a strategic plan to strengthen relations that can reach the future. Meanwhile, the Principal of Daisan Hino Elementary School, Satoru Matsumoto, appreciates the willingness of the Indonesian Embassy in Tokyo to receive a visit to get to know Indonesian culture better.

During this visit, the students had the opportunity to see up close several rooms at the Indonesian Embassy in Tokyo. They visited the meeting room, dining room, prayer room, and a replica of Prambanan Temple. They were explained about the function of each room. The activity was closed with the handover of souvenirs with Indonesian motifs to all students of Daisan Hino.
