VOINews, Jakarta: Indonesian Foreign Minister Sugiono emphasized that global leaders hold optimism and high expectations for President Prabowo Subianto’s leadership on the world stage.

"During my recent diplomatic visits accompanying President Prabowo, I observed through their words and body language that many world leaders place significant hope in Indonesia under Prabowo's leadership," Sugiono stated on Saturday during the Conference of Indonesian Foreign Policy (CIFP), organized by the Foreign Policy Community of Indonesia (FPCI).

The Foreign Minister highlighted that this optimism reflects trust in Indonesia's growing role and influence in global affairs, particularly under President Prabowo’s stewardship. This sentiment underscores Indonesia’s potential to advocate for shared global interests amid complex international challenges.

Sugiono noted that Indonesia’s importance is further magnified amidst escalating global tensions, marked by rivalries among superpowers and worsening regional conflicts, such as those in Ukraine and the Middle East.

"Tensions and conflicts will persist, and only through cooperation and collaboration can we ease these challenges," he remarked.

To address these issues, Sugiono affirmed Indonesia's commitment to maintaining strong and friendly relations with all nations, especially neighboring countries in Southeast Asia. He underscored that fostering goodwill with regional and global partners aligns with Indonesia's national interest.

"It is in our national interest to be a good neighbor to friendly countries and to build robust networks with all our allies," the Foreign Minister stated.

Sugiono reiterated Indonesia’s constitutional and traditional stance of non-alignment, affirming that the country will not join any military blocs or alliances. This neutrality, he said, is key to Indonesia’s foreign policy integrity.

Furthermore, Sugiono stressed that harmonious international relations are vital for achieving Indonesia’s domestic goals, including poverty alleviation and food self-sufficiency. By leveraging its strategic global position, Indonesia aims to advance both its national and global agendas.

With President Prabowo at the helm, Indonesia continues to position itself as a beacon of collaboration and a champion of global peace and prosperity./ANTARA/VOI
