VOI News, Jakarta: Indonesian Minister of Tourism, Widiyanti Putri Wardhana has conveyed that the Christmas 2024 and New Year Holiday 202 is a big momentum that must be utilized as well as possible because it has a significant impact on the economy.
Minister Widiyanti at the “2024 Year-End Press Conference” in Jakarta on Friday (20/12) projected that during the holidays, there will be 110.7 million movements of domestic tourists with a potential money turnover of 166 trillion rupiah.
While the projected movement of foreign tourists is 1 million - 1.325 million visits with a potential money turnover of 22.5 to 29.3 trillion rupiah.
“The projection of archipelago tourism traveling in December is estimated at 110.7 million movements, with a potential money turnover during the Christmas and New Year Holiday of 166 trillion Rupiah. While the projection of foreign tourists visiting in December is 1 million to 1.325 million visits. The potential money turnover in foreign tourists is 22.5 to 29.2 Trillion Rupiah,” she said.
Moreover, Minister Widiyanti further pointed out that the Ministry has prepared a number of strategies as mitigation ahead of the Christmas 2024 and New Year Holiday 202 holidays.
In early December, the Ministry of Tourism coordinated with the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises regarding lowering ticket prices. The Ministry of Tourism has also socialized the Circular Letter of the Minister of Tourism regarding the Implementation of Safe, Comfortable and Fun Tourism Activities during the the Christmas and New Year holidays. It also directly reviewed the readiness of destinations and accessibility in several regions of the country, such as Ngurah Rai Bali International Airport, Blimbingsari Banyuwangi Airport, Christmas and New Year Posts at Ketapang Banyuwangi port, and Gilimanuk Port.
The Ministry of Tourism has also published and amplified information about the Christmas and New Year holidays on all social media platforms of the ministry of tourism.
