President Confirms 2019 Government Focusing on Human Resource Development Biro Pers Presiden
 
 
President Joko Widodo and Vice President Jusuf Kalla held a plenary cabinet session along with all the ranks at the State Palace, Jakarta. Preparation of the Government Work Plan of 2019 is the main topic of discussion at this meeting.
 
To his ranks, the Head of State reminded that starting in 2019, the government should begin to focus on the development of human resources.
 
"The second stage after infrastructure development in our big work is human resource development and ministries should start designing what will be done in the great work of human resource development," he said on Monday, February 12, 2018.
 
In relation to Indonesia's growing economic momentum from 5.06% in the third quarter of 2017 to 5.19% in the fourth quarter, the President also hopes that this performance and momentum can be maintained.
 
Similarly, household consumption is expected to improve in line with the implementation of cash-intensive programs that have been rolled out in some areas.
 
Furthermore, the President again conveyed to his staff that the key to driving economic growth to be more enhanced is to increase investment and exports. To that end, the government should try its efforts to improve the ease investment climate from central to regional levels. 
 
"We're in a pace with other countries that are taking steps almost as much as we are.If we're late, we're left behind and investment will shift to other countries that offer better climate whereas we need new jobs to overcome unemployment, "he said.
 
In addition, the President said that exports contribute 20.37% of GDP. Therefore, to increase exports, the Head of State instructed the line-up to produce breakthrough measures. One of them is to accelerate the resolution of barriers experienced by exporters.
 
"We also have to start involving business actors and SOEs to work on non-traditional export markets, the ambassadors, consul generals, and trade attaches must also strengthen our economic and economic intelligence diplomacy so that they will become the spearhead of promotion, promotion space and see export opportunities, " he continued.
 
As his last directive, President Joko Widodo warned his staff to immediately complete unfinished national strategic projects in 2017. For a number of national strategic projects that will begin in 2018, he requested his staff to provide certainty of the execution in the field.
