Raja Sapta Oktohari, Chairperson of the Executive Board of Indonesian Bicycle Sports Association (PB ISSI) said that his side is currently organizing a bicycle racing event entitled ‘UCI Grand Fondo Mandalika’ in 2021. This activity is expected to go hand in hand with the holding of the Mandalika MotoGP 2021 premiere motorbike racing event. In a press release received by Antara, Wednesday (Oct 21), Oktohari added that one of the PB ISSI activities is to revive outdoor activities, especially bicycle racing events that are inactive due to the Covid-19 epidemic. Through sport tourism, it can also provide a multiplier effect of economic impacts by utilizing and developing outdoor sports.

The Indonesian chess team won two gold medals and one silver medal in individual numbers at the 2020 Asian Cup online chess tournament. As announced by the Asian Chess Federation through its official website quoted on Thursday, two gold medals for Indonesia were presented by Grandmaster Susanto Megaranto and International Master Medina Warda Aulia. International Master Irene Kharisma Sukandar won silver.

According to the regulations, the award of individual medals per board is only based on the result of the match in stage one or the qualifying round with the Swiss system which takes place in a nine-round competition format. As for stage II or the quarter-finals to the finals, there are no more individual medals because the match system has also changed to a knockout system so that it is no longer possible to fulfill the same standard assessment.

In the first stage, each player competes for six innings (five rounds for five-board players or reserve players) and can compete for individual medals. The criterion for selecting the best player or medalist for each board is the performance rating, which is the average rating of the opponents it has faced and defeated. These stages are the fairest criterion compared to the previous one which is based on the number of points achieved. The chess tournament between Asian countries started on October 10 and completed nine qualifying rounds on October 20.
