Located in Waimarang Village, East Sumba, Waimarang Waterfall is one of the destinations that is enough to steal a traveler's heart. In addition to being beautiful, the waterfall also has a pool created by nature. To get there, you have to drive about two hours from the center of East Sumba Regency in Waingapu. Off-road terrain to savanna will also welcome a traveler's trip to Waimarang Waterfall. If you are lucky, a traveler can also see horses which are eating grass. Arriving at the location, you will find a large field area for parking with several simple stalls. But you still have to walk about one kilometer trekking to Waimarang Waterfall.

Make sure you wear mountain sandals or comfortable shoes, remembering that the trip to the waterfall goes up and down. Just before arriving, you also have to cross the river first. Even though it's a little tiring, the trekking struggle will pay off with the beauty of Waimarang Waterfall. The waterfall is not big or tall, but it has a natural swimming pool which is quite wide. When you get there, you will not resist the temptation to swim, because the water will refresh your body. There is no change room at the waterfall location. However, you can find simple change rooms in the parking area. On one side of the waterfall, you can also find a higher surface. Beside it, there is also a smaller pool that is no less refreshing.

A long journey requires you to bring your own food, change of clothes and drink when you are in this waterfall area. If you want to go to Waimarang Waterfall, it is free of charge.  You are only charged with parking fee of Rp 10 thousand for cars and Rp 5 thousand for motorbikes. To enter the area, you must apply health protocols by using a mask, bringing a hand sanitizer or washing your hands with soap and keeping distance. Before you travel, make sure you are not infected with Covid-19, as well as when you return home later.
