The Values of Youth Pledge Appropriate with the values of Pancasila

Every October 28th, the Indonesian nation commemorates the Youth Pledge Day. On October 28, 1928, Youths from various regions in Indonesia swore one homeland, one nation, one language: Indonesia. The Youth Pledge of 1928 is a very important milestone, becoming the foundation in building a pluralistic nation within the framework of the Unitary State of Republic of Indonesia. This was affirmed by Speaker of the House of Representatives –DPR, Bambang Soesatyo.
Quoting idntimes.com report, when attending the National Dialogue with the theme 'Ideology of Pancasila in the Era of Openness and Digitization,' in Surabaya, East Java, Sunday (28/10), Speaker Bambang Soesatyo affirmed that the values in the Youth Pledge are appropriate with the spirit of Pancasila formulated by the founders of the nation, especially in the third principle, Indonesian Unity. In addition, the diversity which is the wealth of the nation must be strongly maintained as the motto ‘Unity in Diversity’.
On that occasion, he reminded that the advancement of information and technology, especially through social media, brings about not only positive progress. But it also negative influence. Discourse, narration and propaganda wars also bring about the swift flow of information that cannot be stopped, including the development of any beliefs and doctrines that is not in line with Pancasila.
Speaker Bambang views that the efforts are needed to re-instill the ideology of Pancasila into the hearts of every Indonesian citizen. At least, there are four main lines that can be carried out. First, it is through the regulation in which Pancasila ideology stabilization law is needed so that the establishment of Pancasila ideology becomes a national system in constitutional politics. Secondly, it is through a policy that is currently carried out by President Joko Widodo in which every policy carried out by the government is the manifestation of Pancasila values. Third, it is through education by instilling the values of Pancasila through formal, non-formal and informal education. Fourth, it is through main and social media as a means of socializing the strengthening of Pancasila ideology.
Meanwhile, Coordinating Minister for Politics, Law and Human Rights, Wiranto in the socialization of the Presidential Instruction for the State Defense in Sidoarjo, East Java (29/10), as quoted by detik.com, said that Pancasila is the nation's ideology. This means that as Indonesian loyal citizens, they have to deeply study the true meanings and values of Pancalsila.
In addition, Minister Wiranto also said that Pancasila cannot be separated from the Unitary State of Republic of Indonesia –NKRI because both are final and must be defended by the Indonesian people. Because, both Pancasila and NKRI have created a lot of advantages for the nation.

The governments of Indonesia and Germany keep collaborating to improve the quality of vocations to produce competitive human resources in the global era. This collaboration is in the form of a training program for advanced level trainer candidates from the industrial world to train more vocational trainers. The main objective is to strengthen the vocational education system to produce young people who are competent and highly competitive according to the needs of the labor market. Industrie-und Handelskammer (IHK), Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Trier from Germany provides trainer training programs, including helping them prepare vocational education curricula that are in line with the needs and development of the industrial sector. Deputy for Coordination of Creative Economy, Entrepreneurship, Competitiveness of Cooperatives, and Small and Medium Enterprises at the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs, Rudy Salahuddin signed a declaration of cooperation between Indonesia and Germany with IHK CEO Trier Jan Glockauer in Jakarta on last Wednesday (10/24). The event was attended by Head of Development Cooperation of the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany, Rafael Teck and Deputy Chairperson of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) for Manpower and Industrial Relations, Anton J Supit. Rudy Salahuddin, as released by Kompas, hopes that the collaboration will improve the ability to prepare curriculum and teach vocational training. He also said that President Joko Widodo had set 2018 as a momentum to prepare competent and productive human resources. Thus, the development of the quality of human capital, especially the younger generation, has received serious attention in the allocation of 2019 State Budget -APBN. The collaboration with the Trier CPI has been carried out in two phases, namely 2012 to 2015 and 2015 to 2018. In the third stage, the collaboration lasts 2018 until 2021. Its main target is to develop a strategy to synchronize the world of education and industry so that the younger generation is more competent and productive to be easily employed in the job market when graduating from vocational school. In previous collaboration, the Trier CPI focused on training pedagogical skills of teachers in several vocational high schools to have the ability to teach students' practices and theories on an ongoing basis. As for the next three years, Trier's CPI along with the government, Kadin Indonesia, and a number of partners will train the pedagogical capabilities of company workers to be able to educate vocational training participants according to the needs of the business world. Meanwhile, Deputy Chairperson of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry -Kadin for Manpower and Industrial Relations, Anton J Supit appreciated President Joko Widodo who chose vocation as a very strategic aspect to build strong human capital. He asked for the industrial world to support the large design of vocational training made by the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs so that the vocational education and training will run according to the increasingly competitive job market needs.

The release of about 50 kilograms of fish seed in the stream of Lamat Muntilan river, Magelang Regency, Central Java and the various birds marks the peak of the seventh 2018 cultural performance organized by groups of localpeople on Saturday. One of the committees of the 7th culturalperformance , Sutikno explained that the release of these animals means that the local residents continue to pay attention to the importance to preserve theenvironment. He said that variuos fish seeds, such as Mujhair fish and turtles were released by the local community, including the ranks of local sub-district leaders.
Dozens of birds like kutilang, perkutu and sulingan kamparwere also released from the stream of the river close to the local residence of Pepe Village, Muntilan sub-district, Magelang Regency.
In the series of 7th culturalperformance that took place from 13 until 21 October. the local residents of Pepe Village, Muntilan sub-district, Magelang Regency carried out action “clean Lamat River” and the workshop with theme “Babad Sedulur Nglamat” was attended by some speakers. In addition, there were also a drawing and exposition, workshop of trash bank, kid play, traditional exhibition, educational and culinary exhibition.
In the peak event during 20 and 21 october 2018, art performance was held by some local groups and some schools in Muntilan. Besides, mountain parade was also held and yellow rice was made from the local village to thesquare where stage has been established to perform with dozens of exhibition booths.
The cultural performance in Magelang regency was pioneered by Muntilam Museum Mission seven years ago. Sutikno explained that the annual agenda such as cultural performance is very important to support the spirit of the people’s brotherhood in the area. Headded that the cultural performance besides enhancing the local people’s brotherhood is aimed at uniting human beings with the world and the local area. The performance also builds spiritof ecological eduction which is the most important circle of the children. The local community makes the LamatRiver as meeting and learning place towards ecologicalawareness. The water stream of Lamat River flows from the foot of Mt. Merapi around 20 meters of east Muntilan, the biggest district in Magelang Regency.

Indonesia Provides Financial Assistance worth US $ 7 million dollars for Palestine
Written by MaryatiThe Indonesian government is committed to providing financial assistance worth 7 million US dollars or about Rp110 billion to support various Palestinian development programs. This was discussed by Minister of Foreign Affairs, Retno Marsudi and Palestinian Foreign Minister, Riyad al-Maliki during a bilateral consultation in Jakarta on last Tuesday (10/16). Minister Retno Marsudi in a joint press statement with her counterpart Minister al-Maliki said that the assistance is a concrete contribution to the Palestinian community. She affirmed that most of the total aid is used to increase significant contributions to the United Nations Agency for Palestinian Refugees (UNRWA) from US$ 200,000 to US$ 2 million during 2019-2020. Meanwhile, the assistance of the Indonesian people to Palestine reaches US$2.92 million dollars and 2,000 tons of rice.In addition, the National Zakat Agency (Baznas) will also provide financial assistance to UNRWA and the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization for Palestinian refugees. The Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) is currently discussing plans to build an Indonesian hospital in Hebron. The total assistance will also cover the area of capacity building. The Indonesian government will contribute to the capacity building cooperation worth US $ 2 million for the next three years. The assistance is included in the framework of the Cooperation Conference between East Asian Countries for the Development of Palestine (CEAPAD). The World Bank Provides loan worth US$1 billion dollar for disaster reconstruction in Indonesia

This long-term loan is a continuation of the results of the talks between Vice President Jusuf Kalla and the Chief Executive Officer of the World Bank Group, Kristalina Georgieva, who discussed the assistance agreement for Indonesia. Kristalina Georgieva in her written statement quoted by Antara on Sunday (10/14) said that the Indonesian government's efforts to restore affected areas were very good. The loan package includes giving cash to 150,000 poor families affected in natural disasters for periods of six months to a year. This social security scheme is designed to strengthen the local economy and create jobs during the recovery period and prevent long-term damage to human capital. This one billion US dollar package can also be used for disaster recovery programs to finance public facilities and other important infrastructure. Affected infrastructure that can utilize the assistance, including hospitals, schools, bridges, highways, toll roads and water supply facilities. President, Joko Widodo and Singaporean Prime Minister, Lee Hsien Loong held a bilateral meeting on the sidelines of the IMF-World Bank Annual Meeting in Nusa Dua Bali on Thursday (11/10). The meeting produced seven memoranda of understanding –MoU in various fields. Three agreements that were signed were witnessed directly by President Joko Widodo and Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong. First agreement is the cooperation on increasing and protecting investment between Indonesia and Singapore. President Joko Widodo at a press conference in Bali on Thursday said that this cooperation is expected to increase the confidence of Singaporean investors in investing in Indonesia. The second collaboration is in the field of financial technology (fintech). Indonesia and Singapore are committed to arranging details of the support provided to develop the fintech industry in both countries. Meanwhile, the third collaboration is in the field of cultural heritage for the period 2019-2021. In addition to the three collaborations, there are still four other cooperation agreements signed by representatives of the two countries' ministries. The four ones are the development and implementation of industry 4.0, cooperation in fintech programs for higher education, development of human resources for government employees and cooperation in shipping schools. President Joko Widodo added, Indonesia and Singapore are also committed to continuously developing the Kendal Industrial Zone in Central Java and Nongsa Digital Park Batam, Riau Islands. Both regions are built on cooperation between the two countries. President Joko Widodo said that in addition to economic cooperation, an increase in ASEAN cooperation was also discussed. The International Monetary Fund -IMF) called Indonesia's economic growth relatively good amid the heat of trade tension and the global economic slowdown. The IMF estimates that Indonesia's economy will still grow above 5 percent this year. The latest IMF World Economic Outlook (WEO) report projects global economic growth this year stagnates at 3.7 percent. The IMF also revised the 2019 global economic projection from 3.9 percent to 3.7 percent. Meanwhile, Indonesia's economy in 2018 is predicted to grow 5.1 percent or lower than the IMF projection in April 2018 which was 5.3 percent. IMF Chief Economist, Maurice Obstfeld at a press conference at the IMF Annual Meeting - World Bank in Nusa Dua, Bali Tuesday (9/10) said that Indonesia's economic growth projections were revised as the global economy declined. Because Indonesia will be affected by tightening monetary policy in the world, oil prices and trade wars. Even so, he saw Indonesia's economic growth is still quite strong. Based on the WEO report, Indonesia which groups the IMF into ASEAN-5 has the third highest economic growth. Ministry of Industry is Optimistic Indonesia can be the World’s Muslim Fashion Orientation

Minister of Industry, Airlangga Hartarto remarked at the opening ceremony of the exhibition in Jakarta on Monday that the IMFE is a concrete effort implemented by the Ministry of Industry to make Indonesia as the World’s Muslim Fashions orientation in 2020. Minister Airlangga said that Indonesia has a lot of opportunities to be the World’s Muslim Fashion orientation, remembering that Indonesia is the country with the largest Muslim populations. The Global Islamic Economy has predicted that the growth of the World Muslim Fashion Market will reach US$ 327 billion dollars in 2020. It also said that Indonesia is one of the five major members of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation exporting the most Muslim Fashion products besides Bangladesh, Turkey, Morocco, and Pakistan. In 2017, Bangladesh as the member of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation exported the most Muslim Fashion products worth US$33.73 billion dollars, followed by Turkey on the second position with the value of US$12.76 billion dollars, and Indonesia on the third position with the value of US$ 12.23 billion dollars. Minister Airlangga further explained that the markets of Muslim Fashion products have become more diversified as the growing number of Indonesian and global Muslim populations. The Indonesian government through PT Inalum officially controls 51 percent of PT Freeport Indonesia (PTFI) shares. The agreement was signed by PT Inalum as the parent of the State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) mine and Freeport Mcmoran Inc. in Jakarta on last Thursday (27/9). The signing of the sales and purchasing agreement is a follow-up of the preliminary agreement on July 7, 2018, when it was agreed that the value of the Freeport Indonesia divestment shares would be US$3.85 billion dollars or around Rp 56 trillion. In detail, US$3.5 billion dollars is to buy a participating interest (PI) 40 percent owned by Rio Tinto and US$350 million dollars to acquire 9.3 percent of shares owned by Indocopper Investama. The signing was carried out by INALUM's President Director, Budi G. Sadikin, and Freeport-McMoRan CEO, Richard Adkerson, witnessed by Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Minister, Ignasius Jonan, Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN), Rini Soemarno, and Finance Minister, Sri Mulyani Indrawati. Thus, the number of PTFI shares owned by INALUM increases from 9.36 percent to 51.23 percent. The Papua Regional Government will get 10 percent of 100 percent of PTFI's shares. Minister Ignasius Jonan explained that with the signing of this agreement, the government would issue a Special Mining Business License with a maximum operating period of 2x10 years until 2041. Furthermore, PTFI's obligation to build a copper smelter with a capacity of 2 to 2.6 million tons per year would keep being monitored and evaluated for its development. So, it is expected to be completed in less than 5 years. Meanwhile, Minister of Finance, Sri Mulyani Indrawati admitted that the divestment of shares between PT Freeport Indonesia and the Indonesian Government was complicated and it required a very long process.
"I know that this process is not easy; there are many negotiating details that I have to admit. The process is equally complicated. However, with the good intentions of the Government of Indonesia and with guidance from Mrs. Rini to PT Inalum and with Richard Adkerson leadership, we have finally been able to fulfill and reach an agreement to take over 51 percent of the shares signed today in the form of a Sales Purchase Agreement. Minister Sri Mulyani further explained that the divestment of PT Freeport Indonesia's shares this time is a commitment of Indonesia to fight for the best, both in terms of state revenues, downstream processing through the construction of smelters and management.
