The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia continues to monitor the condition of Indonesian Citizens (WNI) in Russia. Currently, there are 1,342 Indonesians living in the Russian Federation.

"The majority are students and migrant workers in the hospitality sector," said the Directorate for the Protection of Indonesian Citizens at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Judha Nugraha, in an interview with Pro3 RRI, Saturday (9/24/2022). Based on monitoring, thousands of Indonesian citizens are reported to be in good condition, even though Russia has carried out a partial mobilization to Ukraine.

However, he said, if at any time the situation and security conditions in Russia were dangerous, Indonesian citizens were immediately evacuated. "The Indonesian Embassy will always update the contingency plan," he said.

Even though Russia held a partial mobilization to Ukraine, he said, the activities of Indonesian citizens in the Red Bear Country were not disturbed at all. "Those affected by the partial mobilization policy are only Russian citizens, of course there will be no impact on foreign nationals," he said.

Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree on partial mobilization that began on Wednesday this week. Putin said the decree was aimed at "liberating" the Donbass region of Ukraine, and claimed residents of the region.

Partial mobilization is only for Russian citizens who are currently in reserve status who will be subject to military service. Partial mobilization is also for those who serve in the armed forces, have certain military specialties, as well as relevant experience. (RRI)

The Labor Party together with the Indonesian Peasant Union (SPI) raised the issue of agrarian reform to commemorate National Farmers Day (HTI). This was conveyed when holding an action to convey opinions, in the Arjuna Horse Statue area, Central Jakarta, Saturday (24/9/2022).

"First, the action to raise the issue of agrarian reform, there is a promise from the government. In particular, President Jokowi also promised to redistribute land to farmers of around nine million hectares," said President of the Indonesian Trade Union Confederation (KSPI) Said Iqbal, at the Horse Statue location, Gambir, Central Jakarta. , Saturday (24/9/2022).

"We are with the workers and peasants, I am representing the top brass from the Labor Union Party to the Presidential Palace. Earlier, we met with the Head of the Presidential Secretariat, Heru Budi Hartono, and we raised three issues," said Said Iqbal.

"The second issue is rejecting the omnibus law, namely the land bank. In the omnibus law the concept of a land bank is only the commercialization of agricultural lands," said Said.

"So that farmers are moved not to get land rights for the farmers themselves. But land banks have a more profitable concept for corporations and even tend to keep farmers away from their land," said Said Iqbal.

Said said the last issue was related to fuel price adjustments. That until now farmers have not received Direct Cash Assistance (BLT) in lieu of fuel subsidies.

"It is proven that farmers do not get BLT. Therefore, SPI and the Labor Party reject the increase in fuel prices which is more burdensome for farmers," he said. (RRI)
