VOInews, Jakarta: Saudi Arabia, through its Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Da'wah and Guidance, has again launched the "Iftar and Date Grant" program to many countries, including Indonesia. Saudi Arabian Ambassador to Indonesia, Faisal Abdullah H. Amodi said the program was a form of attention from King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to meet the needs of Muslims worldwide.

VOInews, Jakarta: Indonesian Ministry of Religious Affairs declared Tuesday (12/3/2024) as day one of Ramadan 1445 Hijri and the first day of fasting in Indonesia. That is following the isbat (confirmation) meeting in Jakarta. As the first day of Ramadan has been determined, Indonesian Muslims can start performing their evening tarawih prayers on Monday (11/3/2024).

VOInews, Jakarta: Timor-Leste government targets that in 2025 the country can fully accede to ASEAN, Timor-Leste Minister of Trade and Industry Filipus Nino Pereira said in an interview with RRI Voice of Indonesia on Sunday (10/3). Pereira said that with this target, all ministries that have a connection with ASEAN are working and coordinating to achieve the target.

Chinese Foreign Minister, Wang Yi proposed that there will be an international body that regulates artificial intelligence (AI) under the United Nations (UN). In a press conference on "China's Diplomacy and Foreign Relations Policy" in Beijing on Thursday (7/3/2024), he said that China prioritizes three things regarding the development of AI: firstly ensuring AI benefits the general welfare of humanity, secondly, ensuring safe use so that AI is always under human control, and thirdly, ensuring the establishment of an international governance body for AI under the UN framework that allows all countries to participate in and benefit equally from AI development.
