VOInews, Jakarta: The development of the Capital City of the Archipelago (IKN) can learn from Brazil's experience of capital transfer from Rio de Jenairo to Brasilia. Brazil has a long experience of moving the capital from Salvador to Rio de Jenairo until it was relocated to current capital of Brasilia in 1960. The city of Brasilia is the third capital of Brazil whose construction has been planned since the early 19th century. This was conveyed by the Indonesian Ambassador to Brazil, Edi Yusup in an interview with the Ranah Diplomasi Program which aired on 30 April 2024 on the Voice of Indonesia radio channel entitled IKN-Brazilia Collaboration in the Context of Friendship between Indonesia and Brazil.

According to Ambassador Edi Yusup, Brasilia is Brazil's third capital city whose construction has been planned since the early 19th century. Citing the Consilience Journal, Brazil's Capital Relocation Act was approved by the Congress in 1891. The plan to move the capital from Rio de Jenairo to Brasilia was only realised 69 years later. "This is actually the second capital move, the first capital was in Salvador. From Salvador moved to Rio and then to Brasilia. And the process or plan to move the capital has actually been quite long, from the 1800s actually. It was only realised in 1960," explained the Ambassador who previously served as Director of East Asia and the Pacific at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The construction of the capital city of Brasilia, which is located in the middle of Brazil, as Ambassador Edi Yusup explained, aims to equalise development more ideally. "Indeed, the first goal of moving the capital city is to develop equitable development and also build a modern city. In addition, the city of Brasilia is located in the middle so that the distribution of development is expected to be better than if the capital was in Rio de Janeiro," Ambassador Edi Yusup continued. VOINews, Jakarta : The King Salman Centre for Social and Humanitarian Aid (KS Relief) in collaboration with the Jakarta Islamic Hospital (RSIJ) Cempaka Putih conducted Volunteer Training for Advanced First Aid which took place from March 27, 2024, to May 3, 2024, at the KH Ahmad Dahlan Auditorium RSIJ Cempaka Putih.

H.E. Faisal el Amudi, Ambassador of Saudi Arabia to Indonesia, said that the Volunteer Training programme demonstrates the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's significant role in providing humanitarian social assistance. "This programme reflects the important role of Saudi Arabia in the world in providing humanitarian assistance and social assistance. This is a humanitarian volunteer activity and also a collaboration built by KS Relief with hospitals in Jakarta," uttered Ambassador Faisal el Amudi said on Thursday (2/5/2024).

Dr Amer Al Anzi who acted as a training facilitator explained that the volunteer training taught participants emergency handling techniques, first aid for heart attacks, to various other medical treatments. "In the KS Relief training, there is training for heart rate, emergency room, patient handling methods and dealing with all matters related to mental and medical health," said Dr Amer Al Anzi.

The Volunteer Training for Advanced First Aid at RSIJ is the fourth training conducted by KS Relief in Indonesia. This year's training participants reached 490 people. "We have conducted this event four times in Indonesia, and we want to conduct other events in the future. We have reached 490 trainees for this event," continued Dr Amer Al Anzi.

The Volunteer Training aims to develop the technical medical skills of the Indonesian people. "This is to develop or advance the skills to the medical team at RS Islam Jakarta and exchange knowledge between KS Relief and the people of Indonesia represented by RS Islam Jakarta," concluded Dr Amer Al Anzi.

VOInews, Jakarta: Three months ahead of the Paris 2024 Olympics, the French Embassy in Jakarta hosted the Cita Rasa France (Gout de France) 2024 reception with the theme of Sports and Gastronomy at Residence de France, Menteng, Central Jakarta on Thursday, April 25, 2024. The reception was attended by Chairman of the Indonesian Olympic Committee Raja Sapta Oktohari, Chairman of PB PABSI Rosan Roeslani, Chairwoman of the Indonesian Rock Climbing Federation Yeni Wahid, KOI administrators and two cycling athletes who qualified for the Paris 2024 Olympics, namely Rio Akbar and Bernard Benyamin Van Aert. The guests were treated to various French specialties such as Le Carpaccio de Veau, Fricassee d'Escargots, Cannellini Cuits en Cocotte and Le Brie Truffe Maison. All dishes were served by four professional French chefs, Chef Gilles, William, Richard and Chef Nicolas.

French Ambassador to Indonesia Fabien Penone said that the 'Gout de France' event is a culinary celebration organized by the French diplomatic network since 2015 to introduce French culinary flavors to the world. "As you know, 'Gout de France' has been organized by the French diplomatic network around the world since 2015, to celebrate the excellence of French chefs, artisans, and food products," Ambassador Fabien Penone said.

Ambassador Fabien Penone further explained that, in conjunction with the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, this year's Gout de France is themed 'Sport and Gastronomy'.   "This year, ahead of the Paris Olympics and Paralympics, the 2024 edition of Gout de France wants to highlight the relation between sport and gastronomy (…) During the Paris Olympics and Paralympics, France will not only be the biggest playground for athletes around the world, but also the biggest dining table in the World," Fabien Penone added.

In his speech, ambassador Fabien Penone also stated that whether in the kitchen or on the field, collaboration, solidarity, excellence, belonging, and togetherness are essential values that must be upheld.

The peak of Gout de France 2024 will be held from October 1 to 11, 2024 in 151 restaurants in 14 cities spread across 4 islands throughout Indonesia. During the event, people can taste French cuisine, participate in cooking workshops, take part in demonstrations by French chefs, and attend seminars on French gastronomy. (Daniel).  

KBRN, Tokyo: The Indonesian Ministry of Manpower has accepted a proposal to extend the validity period of the Memorandum of Cooperation Specified Skilled Worker (MoC SSW) which will expire in June 2024 in a meeting with Japanese representatives in Tokyo.

In a statement in Jakarta on Wednesday (24/4/2024), Secretary General of the Ministry of Manpower Anwar Sanusi said Indonesia accepted the proposal in a meeting with Director General of the Residency Management and Support Department, Immigration Services Agency of the Ministry of Justice of Japan, Fukuhara Nobuko in Tokyo, Japan. Secretary General of the Ministry of Manpower Anwar explained that previously the proposal to extend the SSW MoC had been received by the Ministry of Manpower on 31 October 2023 and 3 April 2024.

"In principle, we can accept the proposal to extend the validity period of the MoC SSW Indonesia - Japan without any amendments until the issuance of new Japanese Government policies related to the acceptance of foreign workers in Japan. Especially in the Technical Intern Training Programme (TITP) system and the SSW system," Anwar said.

The Ministry of Manpower is also enthusiastic and welcomes the latest information from the Japanese Ministry of Justice regarding the new policy of accepting foreign workers in Japan in the TITP and SSW systems. "I strongly support the implementation of this MoC and welcome the extension or renewal of this MoC," said Anwar Sanusi.

He said during the five years of implementation of the SSW programme, the number of participants was still far from the target. For this reason, the Ministry of Manpower hopes that both parties, namely the Governments of Indonesia and Japan, will conduct a joint evaluation of the MoC so that implementation can be easier, smoother, and more optimal in the future. Anwar Sanusi also hopes that a large number of Indonesian workers can work in Japan both through the SSW programme and new programmes that will be issued by the Japanese Government. "Including other programmes issued by the Japanese Government in order to open up employment opportunities for foreign workers in Japan," he said.

Previously, Secretary General of the Ministry of Manpower Anwar Sanusi also met with Commissioner of the Immigration Services Agency of Japan, Kikuchi Hiroshi. Anwar proposed the opening of four new SSW fields, from 14 sectors to 18 sectors. Another proposal is the establishment of a category (1) SSW quota of 820,000 workers for the period 2024-2029.
