A total of 52.5 tons of Indonesian animal feed worth nearly Rp200 million succeeded in penetrating Brunei Darussalam’s market. The feed was was sent on Friday (30/4).  This animal feed concentrate product with the brand "JABFeed" is the product of the Jabung Syariah Agro Niaga Cooperative (KAN) in Malang, East Java. This product export shipment is the first for KAN Jabung Syariah to carry out and it was managed particularly by the central business unit for the production of animal feed, specifically for dairy cows and beef cattle. Previously, KAN Jabung Syariah's feed production was focused on fulfilling domestic needs across Indonesia. The Indonesian Embassy in Bandar Seri Begawan welcomed this positive news enthusiastically and it helped the process of import licensing in Brunei Darussalam. Currently, Brunei Darussalam is developing economic diversification namely by increasing the productivity of the agricultural and agricultural sectors, including cattle, chicken and goat farms.

It is hoped that the export of this product will be sustainable with regular deliveries. Indonesian Ambassador to Brunei Darussalam, Sujatmiko explained that by maintaining good quality and competitive prices, Indonesia still has the opportunity to continuously improve access to the animal feed market in Brunei.  The country still needs a sufficient supply of animal feed from abroad, considering that the domestic production volume is only about 39.9% of the demand.

Not only feed for cows, but also feed for goats and chickens, even fish feed and pet feed has also still a large sufficient potential to be supplied by Indonesia. It is also hoped that the needs of Brunei's other agricultural sectors, such as medicine, vitamins and production tools, can also be supplied from Indonesia.  Besides, by having the support of the Ministry of Agriculture, regional governments, and related agencies, the effort of greater market access will run more smoothly.
