The Government of Indonesia hopes that Morocco can immediately follow up the discussion on Preferential Trade Agreement (PTA) between Indonesia and Morocco. This was conveyed by Minister of Trade Enggartiasto Lukita when meeting with Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Morocco Mounia Boucetta on the sidelines of Indonesia-Africa Forum 2018 in Nusa Dua Bali.

According to Enggartiasto Lukita, he believes, Morocco has a common view with Indonesia which assumes that PTA will have a positive impact for the economic development of both parties. He said Indonesia and Morocco are among the liaison countries that have an important role in maintaining economic growth, both in the region and in the world.

"That is the first with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Morocco. The talks followed up the agreements that had been made during the trade expo last year represented by the Moroccan ambassador in Indonesia. There are some things that are delivered and soon we will follow up that we expect them to be able to start discussing the PTA draft that we have to convey to them. When viewed from the spirit they will follow up. Because the trade is not just from us to Morocco and they are well aware. Morocco is just like us with Chile. So it functions as a hub. We export to Morocco, Morocco will enter the African market, "Enggartiasto Lukita said.

Furthermore, Minister of Trade Enggartiasto Lukita conveyed in his meeting with Morocco's Deputy Foreign Minister, he also received an invitation to participate in a trade mission in Morocco which is scheduled to be held at the end of June. The Minister of Trade hopes that the trade mission activities in Morocco will eventually result in concrete trade cooperation so as to improve the domestic economy. (VOI / Andy / AHM)
