The arrival of the Indonesia-1 presidential plane at West Java International Airport (BIJB) or Kertajati, Majalengka Regency, became the historical landing at the airport built on the 1,800 hectare land.  Presidential plane carrying President Joko Widodo and entourage to conduct a two-day working visit to land at BIJB approximately 09:19 pm, Wednesday, May 24. Upon arrival at the apron, the presidential plane was greeted with water salute ceremonies.

"Alhamdulillah, we have seen the historic landings because this is the first official landings plane down at Kertajati International Airport after yesterday there are experiments that have been done," said President Joko Widodo after coming down from the presidential plane.

The presence of the second largest airport in Indonesia after Soekarno-Hatta around the developing area of ​​West Java is expected to support community mobility in West Java and provide a good economic impact for the surrounding area.

"We hope that Kertajati Airport in Majalengka, West Java, this will really become an airport that can provide services to all citizens of West Java and of course all the people of Indonesia who want to West Java. In addition, we also expect this economic impact both in Majalengka District and in West Java Province as a whole, "he said.

Head of State said it wanted this airport can be integrated with Port Patimbang which is located approximately 40 kilometers. The integration can support economic improvement in West Java by providing easy access and services for incoming investors. ( biropers )
