President Joko Widodo has admitted that he will prepare time to receive the Indonesian Corruption Eradication Commission –KPK after Eid ul Fitr 1439 Hijr festivity. This was affirmed in response to the KPK request to meet and submit a report related to the discussion of the Draft of the Criminal Law. The President also said that the government has discussed matters related to the discussion of the Draft of the Criminal Law at the level of the Coordinating Ministry for Political, Legal and Security Affairs, but President Joko Widodo will still receive the KPK after Eid ul Fitr. "I prepare a special time for KPK, even though there has been a talk process in the Coordinating Ministry for Political, Legal and Security Affairs because KPK wants to meet…yes later after Lebaran Eid ul Fitr festivity I will set it," said Joko Widodo. Previously, the Corruption Eradication Commission -KPK sent a letter to the President regarding the rejection of the inclusion of articles of corruption in the Draft of Criminal Law. The KPK believes that the entry of specific criminal offenses, including corruption in the Draft of Criminal Law could weaken the commission. Currently, the KPK's rejection letter is still being studied by the government through the Coordinating Ministry for Political, Legal and Security Affairs.
