The Republic of Indonesia Radio Public Broadcasting Institute (LPP RRI) is committed to preserving shadow puppets as one of Indonesia's cultural diversity. President Director of LPP RRI Hendrasmo said this was in accordance with the law mandated by RRI.

"According to the mandate of the law, RRI as a public broadcasting institution carries out its functions. Among them is preserving the culture that exists on Indonesian soil," Hendrasmo said in his remarks at the shadow puppet show in the courtyard of the RRI Central Building, Friday (16/9/2022) night.

According to him, in the play of wayang kulit, it contains noble values ​​that should be imitated. "Wayang is a way of life where we can reap noble values ​​as a way for society to make life better," he said.

It is known that this shadow puppet show took the play 'Mbangun Saptoargo' with Dalang Ki MUlyono Purwo Wijaya. "We are shown Bagawan Abiyoso, the grandfather of the Pandavas and the Kauravas, inviting Mbangun Saptoargo, building identity, building a complete soul," he said.

Regarding the meaning of the wayang kulit play, RRI will continue to provide correct and verified information because the Indonesian people are faced with disinformation. "We are faced with disinformation and miscommunication that undermines the cohesion of our society, undermines the unity of our society," he said. (RRI)
