Indonesia and Albania agree to increase trade and tourism cooperation

Indonesian Ambassador to Bulgaria, Albania and North Macedonia, Iwan Bogananta held a meeting  with Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama. They agreed to increase the two countries’ cooperation in the fields of trade, tourism and investment. The Indonesian Embassy in Sofia stated that the increasing cooperation with Albania would also encourage Indonesia to jack up cooperation with countries in the Balkan region. Based on the information of the Indonesian Embassy in Sofia received in Jakarta on Wednesday (28/9), Ambassador Iwan's meeting with Prime Minister Rama took place at the Albanian Prime Minister's office in Tirana last Monday (26/9).

During the meeting, Ambassador Iwan pointed  out  several important agendas, including the development of Indonesia-Albania bilateral cooperation, particularly in the fields of trade, tourism and investment. He also said that it  aims at opening up new spaces and opportunities for the Indonesian market in the Balkans and as a form of support for economic development in Indonesia.

On that occasion, Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama will keep on supporting the bilateral  working plan with Indonesia in the future,  particularly  in the trade sector , tourism and investment. Albania is a country with a population of 2.7 million people with a Muslim population of 56 percent. Albania has the potential to become a center for trade activities for Indonesian products to enter the territory of the Balkan countries.
