PT Pelayaran Nasional Indonesia (Persero) or PELNI specifically prepares its fleet for the distribution of humanitarian aid to Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara from Surabaya, East Java. PT PELNI prepares Egon motorboats ship which are roll on-roll off (Ro-Ro) types capable of transporting passengers, vehicles and heavy equipment at once. PT PELNI provides free of charge service for sending the assistance by Egon Ship. This was conveyed by the Head of the Information and Public Relations Center of the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB), Sutopo Purwo Nugroho in his press release on Monday (6/8) in Jakarta.

 

"Then PT PELNI has prepared a motorboat, Egon Ship as a means of transportation to send assistance from Surabaya to Lombok for free. Egon is a Ro-Ro type ship and can transport cars, heavy equipment and passengers," said Sutopo to the media.

Separately, the Secretariat Chief of PT PELNI, Ridwan Mandaliko, through a written statement, said that Egon Ship began to dock at the pier of Tanjung Perak Port, Surabaya on Tuesday (7/8) at 13.00 Western Indoensia Time (WIB) before departing for Lembar Harbor, Lombok at 18.00 local time on the same day. same. In addition to providing free ships for delivering humanitarian assistance, PT PELNI also sent humanitarian assistance in the form of basic necessities and medicines for Lombok earthquake victims. The bassistance is scheduled to be deposited on board of Egon Ship before being handed over to the West Nusa Tenggara Regional Disaster Management Agency, to be distributed to all earthquke victims.
