VOInews, Jakarta: Deputy Minister of Defense of the Republic of Indonesia M. Herindra held a bilateral meeting with ASEAN Secretary General Kao Kim Hourn on Monday (30/10/2023) on the sidelines of the Xiangshan Forum in Beijing.

Quoting the Ministry of Defense's official website, Tuesday (31/10/2023), Deputy Minister Herindra appreciated Secretary-General Kao Kim Hourn for all ASEAN programs that have succeeded in creating and maintaining the stability of the ASEAN region.

"Thank you for the invitation given by the ASEAN Secretary General to meet. We welcome all ASEAN programs so far, which have succeeded in maintaining regional stability," said the Deputy Minister of Defense.

Meanwhile, ASEAN Secretary General Kao Kim Hourn appreciated the success of Indonesia's Chairmanship of ASEAN in 2023 and the series of ASEAN Defense Ministers' Meeting (ADMM) and ADMM- Plus activities.

Indonesia will hold the peak of the ASEAN Defense Ministers' Meeting (ADMM) and ADMM Plus in November 2023.

During the bilateral meeting, the Deputy Minister of Defense was accompanied by Deputy Chief Representative of Indonesia in Beijing, People's Republic of China Parulian George Andreas Silalahi, Director of Defense International Cooperation of the Directorate General of Defense Strategy of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Indonesia (Dirkersinhan Ditjen Strahan Kemhan RI) Brigadier General Steverly Parengkuan and Indonesian Defense Attaché to Beijing Brigadier General Benny Poltak Nadeak.
