VOInews, Jakarta: The Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia (KBRI) in Bandar Seri Begawan (BSB) organized free medical check-ups and services for Indonesian Migrant Workers (PMI) in the Shelter of the Indonesian Embassy in Bandar Seri Begawan on Saturday (16/12/2023).
"The health service is part of a series of activities held by the Indonesian Embassy in BSB to commemorate International Migrants Day, in addition to supporting the process of resolving cases handled by the Indonesian Embassy with related parties," Ambassador Achmad Ubaedillah said in a written statement received on Thursday (21/12/2023) in Jakarta.
Achmad Ubaedillah added that previously, on Friday, activities were carried out to equip PMI with practical skills that are useful for business when they return to their homeland in the form of culinary business training. This activity was attended by 25 participants with 2 instructors.
"It is hoped that the PMI who are now in the shelter of the Indonesian Embassy in BSB, when they return to Indonesia, can open job vacancies for themselves in their hometowns later," he said.
He added that the provision of free health services is a form of state concern for the existence of PMI by ensuring that their health levels are well maintained. Health services were conducted by doctors from Kuala Belait and nurses from Jerudong Park Medical Center to check cholesterol, sugar levels, uric acid and blood pressure.
