The Indonesian Embassy in Tokyo, Japan is preparing logistical assistance to Indonesian citizens  who got impacted by the 7.6 magnitude earthquake and a tsunami warning along the West coast of Japan. According to the Indonesian Ambassador to Japan, Heri Akhmadi in Tokyo on Thursday (4/1),  the aid prepared is 120 packages of ready-to-eat packaged food and  money to support the food needs of Indonesian citizens who are still living in shelters. After the earthquake,  the Indonesian Embassy in Tokyo monitors the condition of Indonesian citizens via communication tools. Based on the information collected, there are still many Indonesian citizens affected in a number of temporary shelters set up by local authorities.

Moreover, Heri Akhmadi asked all Indonesian citizens in Japan to inform relatives or friends who could not be contacted in Ishikawa or the surrounding area, to immediately report to the Indonesian Embassy in Tokyo or the Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia in Osaka via the available hotline number service. The earthquake with a magnitude of around 7.6 Japanese scale hit Ishikawa prefecture on Monday (1/1) at 14.10 West Indonesia Time.  The earthquake has caused tsunami waves in some areas. The Indonesian Embassy in Tokyo and the Indonesian Consulate General in Osaka continuously coordinate with local authorities and contact a number of group communities in the affected areas to make sure of the condition of  Indonesian citizens.  There are 1,315 Indonesian citizens living in Ishikawa Prefecture, 1,344 in Toyama, and 1,132 in Niigata.

Meanwhile, according to  the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, through its spokesperson, Lalu Muhamad Iqbal in Jakarta on Thursday (4/1),  his side has prepared lots of  needs for Indonesian citizens affected by the earthquake.   Lalu further conveyed that at least 147 Indonesian citizens had been evacuated and currently living in three separated shelters
