VOInews, Jakarta: Indonesian President Joko Widodo asked the ranks of the Indonesian Armed Forces and the National Police –TNI/Polri to always be ready to face the challenges faced by Indonesia, including global economic uncertainty, geopolitical conflicts and their impact on the national economy.

This was affirmed by the President when chairing the Leadership Meeting of the Indonesian National Army (TNI) and the National Police (Polri) 2024 at TNI Headquarters Cilangkap in Jakarta on Wednesday (28/2/2024).

“The challenges we’re facing today are not easy ones; they are domestic challenges, external challenges which are the most difficult, and very complex global challenges. These can also have a significant impact on the economic situation and social situation within the country,” Presiden Joko Widodo said.

President Joko Widodo further stated that currently, the world is facing various conflicts, such as in Ukraine, Gaza, even Yemen, which are causing world food inflation. Besides, there is also an economic crisis which has caused a number of countries to be hit by a recession.

Therefore, he reminded the ranks of the TNI-Polri to remain alert and careful, because the future global competition will become increasingly complex.President Joko Widodo also reminded the TNI-Polri to be able to adapt to technological developments, including cyber warfare and the use of drones.
