Indonesia Receives Appreciation for the 2018 IMF-World Bank Group Annual Meetings in Bali

The annual meeting of International Monetary Fund or the 2018 IMF-World Bank Group meeting in Bali ended on Sunday (14/10). The success of the meeting held by Indonesia gets appreciation from Managing Director of the IMF, Christine Lagarde and President of The World Bank, Jim Yong Kim. Lagarde said that the success of the meeting is a fascinating accomplishment started three years ago. She also said that IMF is a friend of Indonesia

 

"This is an incredible achievement actually started 3 years ago. It’s a long voyage to Indonesia and all of us are embarked upon when Indonesia was selected from a list of many candidates as the best possible location to have a meeting of the World Bank and the IMF. Terima kasih Indonesia atas semua jerih lelah anda. And I really want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for that. The IMF is a friend of Indonesia, we are here to stand by you when it is tough when it is good. And I would like to say simply IMF adalah “teman” Indonesia, said Christine Lagarde .

Meanwhile, President of the World Bank, Jim Yong Kim, said that Indonesian nation is a nation with resilience and compassionate and the World Bank is glad to respond to Indonesia's compassion and ready to help Indonesia.

 

"What we have learned is that the people of Indonesia are both extremely resilience and extremely compassionate. And we at the World Bank Group are very happy to be able to meet that compassion by announcing that we would be able to respond to the government's request for up to 1 billion dollars to supplement rehabilitation and reconstruction efforts and to bolster long-term resilience in Sulawesi and Lombok,"Jim Yong Kim said .

In the end of the press conference, Minister of Finance of Indonesia, Sri Mulyani also announced that Morocco is selected as the next host of the IMF meeting in 2021. (VOI/DP/Trans: Amanda/AHM)
