VOINews, China: Chinese dairy giant Yili has gained international recognition for its latest innovation, INIKIN Brewed Tea, which allows consumers to enjoy fresh, high-quality tea in just three seconds. Yili was awarded the prestigious Richard Hall award, honoring innovation in the beverage industry, during the 21st Global Water Drinks Congress in Frankfurt. The award announcement on Tuesday, October 29, highlighted Yili’s contribution as a leader in the global beverage sector.
As the only Chinese company invited to the congress, Yili was recognized not only for its product innovation but also for its commitment to sustainability. Richard Hall, chairman of Zenith Global, praised Yili's INIKIN Brewed Tea as a brilliant example of China's innovation in the beverage industry. The congress, which concluded on Wednesday, October 30, gathered experts to discuss advancements and sustainable practices within the global drinks market.
Gerrit Smit, a specialist at Yili’s European Innovation Center, shared insights into the technology behind INIKIN Brewed Tea with Xinhua. “Using optimal freshness technology, INIKIN’s unique bottle cap keeps freeze-dried tea powder separate from water without additives,” explained Smit. “By simply twisting the cap and shaking the bottle, consumers can enjoy a fresh, authentic tea in just three seconds.”
This innovative method not only ensures the tea's premium taste but also aligns with Yili's broader commitment to sustainability. Smit highlighted Yili's ambitious goal of achieving carbon neutrality across its supply chain by 2050, reflecting the company’s dedication to environmentally friendly practices in the beverage industry.
Experts and tea enthusiasts worldwide have lauded Yili for this achievement, seeing it as a significant step toward balancing product quality and environmental responsibility./ANTARA/VOI
