Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to Indonesia Muhammad Abdullah AI Gaffli said the relationship between the UAE and Indonesia is in the principle of cooperation and mutual respect. Muhammad Abdullah AI Gaffli in his remarks during the 47th UAE Anniversary celebration in Jakarta on Monday, appreciated the bilateral relations between the United Arab Emirates and Indonesia that hs gone well. He said the relationship between the two countries has developed into a strategic partnership with a growing volume of trade, economy and culture. Trade between the UAE and Indonesia reached more than 3.7 billion US dollars at the end of 2017 compared with 2.9 billion US dollars in 2016. Meanwhile, UAE investment in Indonesia reached 3 billion US dollars and is expected to increase from 5 to 6 billion US dollars until 2020. On the same occasion, Minister of Agrarian and Spatial Planning Sofyan Djalil hoped that bilateral cooperation between Indonesia and the United Arab Emirates could be improved.
