Indonesian embassy in Rome conducts Indonesian Week in Italy to promote Indonesian arts and cultures, which is held in various places in Italy such as Rome, Grosseto and Napoli, until October 31, 2019. That was reported from  the Indonesian embassy’s press release in Rome which was received on Sunday (27/10). Through the Indonesian Week held in Tuscany, Grosseto, Governor of Grosseto, Cinzia Torraco hoped on Saturday (26/10) that Indonesia can become more famous in Grosseto, and vice versa. Deputy Mayor of Grosseto, Luca Agresti conveyed to regional leadership meeting and City’s Council on the importance of getting to know Indonesia, on of strength of new economy which is also rich on culture. Through culture, it is hoped to establish mutual understanding which can strengthen cooperation in other fields, including business.  In the Indonesian Week in Grosseto, the committee showed Indonesian film entitled ‘Valentine, Battle of Surabaya’ and ‘Kartini’ at Aurelia Antica theater in Grosseto.

Recently, Indonesian embassy in Lisabon, Portugal held Asian Gastronomy Festival. The Festival was conducted along with embassy of Indonesia, Bangladesh, the Philippines, South Korea, India, and Thailand. The Festival was held at Indonesian embassy’s office by presenting Asian cuisine. In the festival, visitors who were present had opportunity to see and to discuss directly food making process. Division of Asian promotion at Museu Santa Casa Misericórdia Ricardo da Costa, who attended along with his family said that he was lucky to find ingredients required for the dish at Asian shops in Lisbon. During the festival, the visitors could know similarity in culinary characteristics from each country in Asia. Similarity of the characteristics is interaction among people of Asia since hundreds of years ago.

Indonesia emphasized on strengthening of South-South Cooperation in a bid to answer the challengesof global development on the 18th Non-Aligned Movement Summit held in Baku, Azerbaijan on October 25 and 26. The meeting was attended by 21 Heads of States and Heads of governments, and also 49 officials in the ministerial level and Heads of parliamentary and delegations from more 121 member countries, observers of Non-Aligned Movement and states’ guests. The summit with the theme ”Upholding the Bandung Principles” was to ensure concerted and adequate response to the challenges of contemporary world and discussed efforts of the movement in responding global issues based on Dasasila Bandung, the ten principles of Bandung. Indonesia Ambassador, Husnan Bey Fananie who is also Head of Indonesian delegation in the Summit, said that key issues discussed by member countries in the meeting were the relevance and respect of Dasasila Bandung, the solidarity of members of Non-Aligned Movement against the Palestinian issue, poverty alleviation, climate change, cyber security, combating terrorism and efforts against unilateralism.
