Indonesian President Joko Widodo receives the visit of Queen Maxima of Netherlands at Istana Merdeka, Jakarta, Tuesday. Queen Maxima comes in her capacity as United Nations Special Envoy for Financial Inclusion. After the meeting,  President Joko Widodo told reporters that to encourage financial inclusion in Indonesia requires the simplification of the system. Meanwhile, the United Nations Special Envoy for Financial Inclusion Queen Maxima appreciated the Indonesian government's move that has made much of the policy in the field of inclusive finance. But Queen Maxima reminded Indonesia still has a lot of homework because there are still many people in rural areas that have not been able to access banks and other financial services.
 
"I am really looking forward to continuing to work together with the government, but also with the private sector, not only the state banks but also other banks and also the non financial services to be really involved in this endeavor and so that can reach reach all Indonesians," Queen Maxima said. 
 
 
The Indonesian government is targeting the level of easiness of Indonesians in accessing financial services products or financial inclusion to be equivalent to other countries, especially India by 2019. Indonesian Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, Darmin Nasution, said in the last 1.5 years, the government has intensively pursued increased financial inclusion. A number of government programs in encouraging financial inclusion, among others through the Family Hope Program (PKH) in the form of assistance not directly through bank accounts. In addition, there is also a program of Nontunai Food Assistance (BPNT) with the recipients reaching 1.3 million families through the account receiver at the bank. (KBRN / rini h)
