UK Plans to Stop the Spread of Coronavirus

British National Health Service has declared a major incident over the coronavirus outbreak asking hospitals to open new wards to treat infectious diseases. 12 new British cases emerged Wednesday having arrived from Italy, Germany, Singapore, Japan and Iran. There are now 51 cases in the UK. A total of 13,911 people have been tested. 12 people have been discharged from hospital. No one in the UK has died from the virus. In a press conference Wednesday (04/03/20) in London, British Pime Minister Boris Johnson makes sure to keep the country save as the government priority.

"I fully understand public concern, your concern about the global spread of the virus and it is highly likely that we will see a growing numbers of UK cases. That’s why keeping the country save is the government overriding priority" Johnson said   

Meanwhile British Health minister, Matt Hancock MP said that the action plan that has been published is to show transparent way that British government do to stop the virus outbreak.

 

"So the plan that we published today is being done as transparent as possible about the action that we might have to take not that we definitely will. Because if we do have to do some of these things which is a bit unusual for the government have to do. We want people to know its part of the plan, that its lead by science and its important. Today we’re not asking people to do more then wash your hands, if you have sneeze or cough catch it and follow public health advise if you travel" The minister said. 

 

Hancock added that Britishgovernment will do everything to contain this virus spreading through out the country. The world health organisation has described this as ‘uncharted territory’, as nations rush to contain the spread of the virus as well as containing public fears.More than 90,000 people are infected worldwide with 3,100 deaths. At least 70 countries are affected, the latest to report cases are in Morocco and Ukraine//(VOI/NK/AHM)
