Indonesian Minister of Education and Culture Muhadjir Efendy claimed that he has controlled directly the Chattra or the Stupa’s Umbrella which is currently stored in the Borobudur Karmawibangga Museum. It was stated by Minister Muhadjir to Radio Republik Indonesia, on Monday, January 1st in Jakarta. Minister Muhadjir agreed that the Chattra should be returned to its original position on the top of the temple. The minister targetted that the Chattra restoration from the museum will be completed in conjunction with the Waisak celebration in middle of May 2018. The ministry continues to coordinate and consult with Buddhist leaders or monks about the process of Chattra’s moving. The minister hoped that Borubodur is not only become a tourism object but also a center for religious visits for Buddhists around the world// KBRN
