The Indonesian Motorcycle Producers Association (AISI) targets an increase in motorcycle sales this year to reach 5.9 to 6.1 million units. AISI spokesperson Sigit Kumala told Tempo recently that they predict that sales will rise 3 to 4 percent. He explained sales will rise along with the issuance of several policies. Such as higher charges for vehicle registration certificate and vehicle ownership document, the policy from Financial Services Authority and no increase in fuel price this year. In 2017, motorcycle sales dropped. From January–November, the sales decreased to slightly lower than the sales of the same period in the previous year which was 5.49 million units.///(tempo)
