The name, Bukit Kayoe Putih is inspired by the contours of the land, which is filled with eucalyptus plants. Traveling here, you can enjoy all the views of Bukit Kayoe Putih, namely the beauty of three mountains in East Java. Baubau is a city on the island of Buton, Southeast Sulawesi. Its strategic location makes the city play a major role in the national shipping lanes and has developed as a center of population activity, especially in the trade and service sectors. Baubau City also has a fairly high marine activity with abundant marine products.

With their main livelihood as fishermen, the people of Baubau City depend on the sea. No wonder, the local community has a variety of traditional rituals related to the sea. One of them is Haroana Andala Ritual or the traditional sea party.

This ritual is a thanksgiving event for the fishing community, Bone-Bone village, Baubau City for the abundance of God's blessings that they get from the sea. In addition, this ritual is also a form of prayer to God to increase the abundance of fishermen when they go to sea.

When the Haroana Andala ritual is held, the fishing community gathers on the edge of the sea. The ritual begins with the reading of prayers and mantras, led by local traditional elders.

After reading the prayer, several youths lift a small raft made of several bamboo sticks with a size of about three meters. Inside the raft there are various kinds of food, including sticky rice, several cigarettes, grilled fish, several kinds of traditional cakes, and two chickens, namely a rooster and a hen.

Then, the raft is placed on two small boats and immediately taken to the middle of the ocean which are followed by the community using fishing boats. After arriving in the middle of the ocean, the people float the two rafts.

After the floating event was over, the people of Bone-bone Village visited the old tomb, which is located in Wara Village, Lakudo District, Central Buton Regency. The old tomb is the tomb of Andi Mamuju, a fisherman from Bone Regency, South Sulawesi. He is known as the first person to teach how to fish to the people of Bone-bone village.

After praying at the grave, the community then returned to their respective homes. This ritual that has been going on for hundreds of years is still being held by the people of the Bone-Bone village to preserve local customs and as a place for cultural tourism.

Kue Pinyaram

On a culinary tour to the province of West Sumatra, there are lots of delicious traditional foods. One of them is Pinyaram. The shape is simple, flat round 10 centimeters in diameter, and white or brown. In the middle of the Pinyaram meat is a little thick as if there is a buildup of sugar, with a sweet and sticky taste. If one enjoys sweet-tasting culinary delights, they must try Pinyaram, when one day visiting West Sumatra.


Pinyaram is made from fried rice flour and palm sugar. There are two types of Pinyaram known by the Minangkabau people, namely White and Black. The difference between these two types is only in the raw ingredients. The white Pinyaram uses white rice, while the black one is made from black rice. However, another variant, such as green Pinyaram made from Suji or Pandan leaves can often also be found. Regarding taste, Pinyaram can now be varied with various flavors, such as banana, durian, and so on. Currently, Pinyaram also has various sizes; some are small, medium until plate-sized, depending on individual tastes and preferences.

In Minangkabau, Pinyaram is often a special food at traditional ceremonies, such as weddings, religious events, a celebration of Prophet Muhammad, and Eid Al-fitr. Now, the traditional food is intended for not only traditional ceremonies but also snacks. Generally, this traditional Minangkabau cake can be found not only in traditional markets in West Sumatra but also in all regions in Indonesia. In various regions of Indonesia, Pinyaram cake is also known by various other names or designations, such as Kue Cucur in Jakarta, and some areas on the islands of Java and Sulawesi, Kue Dumpi in West Sulawesi, or Kue Kocor on the island of Madura. Pinyaram cakes are sold from Rp1000 to 2000 per piece.

Pacitan Regency in East Java is famous for its beautiful beaches, such as Klayar, Banyu Tibo, Buyutan and Srau. In addition, Pacitan also has many other wonderful tourism destinations.  One of them is the Maron River. Due to its beauty and authenticity, the river gets the nickname “the Amazon River“ coming from East Java. The distance is about 40 kilometers from the Pacitan square, while it takes approximately one hour by motorcycle.

You have to pay an entrance ticket of Rp 5,000 to enter the Maron River tourism attraction. By walking 20 meters from the entrance, you will arrive at the river bank. Here, you will see a row of boats docking at the side of the river on a small dock. To enjoy the wonder of this tourism area, you have to try the river crossing adventure. You can also rent boats owned by the local residents with a maximum capacity of 6 people. Before going down the river, you are recommended to wear a life jacket. Tour along the river stretches for 4.5 kilometers for 45 minutes.

When you go down this river, you will enter a river that divides the forest area. It is not surprising that the destination is nicknamed the 'Amazon' of Indonesia. It is because the right and left sides of the river are surrounded with shady tropical forests. Along the river, you will enjoy the bluish green water of the Maron River. Coming closer to the end of the riverside tourism route, you will go along the coral hills near the beach. During the trip along the river, you can also enjoy some interesting photo spots. There is one favorite photo spot, namely a swing that is attached to a large tree trunk above the river. You can relax by sitting on the swing with your feet touching the surface of the river. But, of course, the best spot is by sitting at the end of the boat which has a backdrop of lush trees and streams. This walking river tourism trip will end at Ngiroboyo Beach. You can go down for a moment and enjoy the atmosphere of the beach. The boat driver will wait for two hours maximumly before returning to the dock. Besides the river activity, you can also swim and fish in the Maron River. The tourism attraction is equipped with toilets, restaurants, and a large parking lot.

Cangget Dance is one of traditional dances owned by the indigenous Lampung people of Pepadun. In 1942 before the arrival of the Japanese to Indonesia, Cangget Dance was performed for traditional events, such as on the harvest, in the ceremony to build a house or to accompany people who were going for Hajj. But now Cangget Dance is often used to accompany wedding ceremonies or title bestowing ceremonies. The people of Lampung are familiar with various types of Cangget dances. This time we introduce you to one of them, namely Cangget Pilangan Dance.

Cangget Pilangan, is a dance that is played by young men and women when they release one of their members who will marry and go out of the village, following their wife or husband. Cangget dance is performed with traditional clothes and traditional Lampung musical instruments. Some of the properties used, such as kris, jempana, umbrella, spear, gold tray, and others. The songs that accompany the Cangget dance, are tabuh mapak, tabuh tari, serliah adak, mikhul bekekes, gupek,and hujan turun.

Cangget dance is usually performed by 6 to 14 female dancers and two male dancers. The movement pattern of female dancers is dancing in lines, while male dancers dance in front of female dancers while showing their dance attractions to steal the attention of the woman. Although the cangget dance consists of various types, this dance basically has relatively the same movements, namely: worship movement (as an expression of respect); the floating knui movement (symbol of majesty); igel movement (symbol of might); gesture (symbol of fortitude and purity of heart); the movement of a tree (a symbol of tenderness); jajak/pincak movement (symbol of alertness in the face of danger); and the knui tabang movement (a symbol of confidence).

Apparalang beach is located in Ara Village, Bontobahari District, Bulukumba Regency, South Sulawesi. To visit this place, tourists are recommended to use private or rented vehicles because public transportation is not yet available to go there. At Apparalang Beach, you don't have to worry about a shortage of supplies. Because there are food stalls that sell delicious dishes at low prices. The stalls allow you to enjoy the fresh catch of fish from the local fishermen. In addition, this beach is also equipped with supporting facilities for the convenience of tourists, such as small gazebos, bathrooms, and souvenir shops.
