In South Sulawesi province, there is regency called ‘Maros’. The regency is a tourism area which has complete varieties, such as Teletubies hills and Bengo-Bengo pine forest. Not far from Pute River, there is amazing scenery. It is called ‘Rammang-Rammang Stone Forest’. In 2001, UNESCO enlisted karst Maros as natural conservation which has met 9 requirements, such as unique biodiversity and remains of ancient humans existing on cave’s wall. This place is the second biggest karst in the world after karst area in Yunnan, South China. The word of Rammang-Rammang comes from South Sulawesi language, meaning cloud or fog. The local people give the place with the name Rammang-Rammang because every morning or when raining, the place is usually covered with cloud or fog. When cloudy, there are clusters of stone pillars at the fields of local people and these make the scenery to be seen exotic. Rammang-Rammang tourism object is located at Salenrang village, Bontoa district, Maros regency, South Sulawesi province. The location of the village is around 40 kilometers from Makassar. To get access of the tourism object, we can reach the area by motor vehicles. If you go from Makassar city, it takes around 2 hours. If you directly go from Hasanuddin airport, it takes only 30 minutes.
Javanese people have various kinds of ceremonies. There is ceremony to welcome the date of 1 Suro in Javanese calender or 1 Muharram in Islamic calender, such as conducted by Kenjo villager, Glagah district, Banyuwangi regency, East Java Province. The villagers are trying to revive a regional tradition which has disappeared long time ago. The tradition is Sapi-Sapian.Sapi-Sapian tradition tells the origin of the village. The tradition reveals the establishment of the village which was begun from 1700s. In the past, there were 3 people from Bugis who found water resource behind thick shrubs which is now located at Kenjo village. The discovery of the water resource became forerunner to clear land. Because they did not find animal to plow the field, they had to plowthe field by using human power. Two persons pull the plow, while another drived it. Not long time, they found cow which finally could be used to plow the field. Because of the history, most of Kenjo villagers use cow to plow the field, comparing to use bufallo. Sapi-Sapian tradition was stopped in 1962. But since 2012, people revive the tradition again. On the tradition, there are some males which make over like cows. The Sapi-sapian carry the plow and paraded around the village. Behind of them is followed by villagers who accompany with traditional music. In the 'Sapi-sapian' tradition, villagers will witness theatrical how to plant such as hoeing the rice field, plowing the rice field, planting rice seeds, dispeling the pests and also how to harvest. It aims to remind how to farm at the village, including as embodiment of gratitude to the God on abundant havrvest for a year.
West Nusa Tenggara -NTB, especially Lombok has many tourism objects which are worthy being visited. Take for example in North Lombok regency, there is beach which is able to eliminate fatigue after running daily activities. The beach is called ‘Sire beach’. Sire beach has amazing nature. With its coastal line of tourism destination as long as 3.8 kilometers, Sire beach has clear and transparent water. Because of its clear water, from surface of the sea, you can see small fish. Besides, its water is quite calm so that tourists can do marine activities. Unlike other beaches which have special white sand, at Sire beach, its sand is not quite white but it has smooth texture. Around the beach, it is surrounded by coconut trees which are in the neat row. In addition to enjoying the beauty of its clear water, tourists, who make visits here, can also enjoy another activity; one of them is fishing. Here, they can also spend the time by playing beach-volley ball. Sire beach is located at Medana hamlet, North Lombok. The distance is around 35 kilometers from Mataram, West Nusa Tenggara. The trip takes around 1 hour from Mataram by land transportation. If you want to go to this tourism object, we suggest you to use rental car, because public transportation which passes Sire beach is still infrequent. The facility at the beach is inadequate. Thus, if you visit the beach, it is better for you to bring enough money, because it is difficult to find ATM. Besides, please do not forget to bring your own swimming equipment because there is no rental facility.
Eruption of a mountain does not always bring about sorrow or other terrible aftermath. Take for example, the remaining flow of lava resulted from the volcanic activity of Mt. Gamalama in Ternate, North Maluku has currently become a natural ornament which is known as Batu Angus. Batu Angus is one of the most favorite tourist attractions located in Tarau, North Ternate District, Ternate City, Maluku. Batu Angus tourism is also known as the Black Gemstone of Ternate. It is called as the Black Gemstone of Ternate because Batu Angus is a sprawl of black stones resembling to charred stones. These sprawling stones stretch from Mt. Gamalama to the beach. Batu Angus is the remaining of lava resulted from the eruption of Mt. Gamalama in the 17th century and the lava that changed into the stones looks like charred stones. The name OF Batu Angus was derived from the thick black color of the stones. At a glance, there may not be something special from these stones but as you take a closer look at the stones thoroughly, you will realize another beauty from the flock of stones. There is also a historical site in the Batu Angus tourism object. The site is the location of dead Japanese soldier whose parachute could not be opened normally when he skydived from the plane during the war in 1945. In addition, several historical fortresses from the colonial period stand strongly in this tourism object, including fortresses of Oranye, Tolucco, Kalamela, and Kastela. Lake Tolire that also becomes a favorite tourism destination in Ternate adds the remarkable panorama of Batu Angus. The tourism object that is located in the axis of outer ring road can be accessed by public transportation with the price Rp 3,000 or taxi with the price Rp 50,000 per hour. But, if you use your personal motor-vehicles, you only need to pay for the ticket worth Rp 20,000 by car and Rp 5,000 by motorcycle.
The name of Ciletuh Geopark is unfamiliar for some people. However, the Ciletuh Geopark is being assessed by UNESCO as global geopark. If it is passed, Ciletuh geopark will officially become global geopark as well as world’s natural heritage site which is protected. Certainly, it will make the name of Indonesia be more famous in international world on the beauty and wealth of its nature. Ciletuh Geopark is located at Pelabuhan Ratu, Sukabumi, West Java. You can access the geopark by land transportation. To go to the tourism object, we suggest you to use rental or private car which uses double power-steering ( 4WD) machine because the road is much damaged. The trip from Jakarta takes around 7-8 hours. Ciletuh Geopark is very wide. The area includes Ciletuh great bay which has tens of kilometers of coastal line. Tourists are free to choose which beach is suitable for swimming, such as the beach of Ciemas in Jampang district, Sukabumi.Besides the beach, tourists can also swim at waterfall. There are more than eight waterfalls which have been opened for public. But, you should be careful when swimming at the waterfall, because there are some waterfalls which have heavy stream such as Dog-dog and Cikaso waterfalls. To go to the waterfalls, tourists should do trekking and passing green trees. Another activity which can be conducted at Ciletuh Geopark is by enjoying undersea beauty. To enjoy the undersea beauty, tourists can do snorkeling at white sand spot of Kunti Island. The location can be found by walking around 10 minutes from the main beach of the geopark. Snorkeling management here is Balawisata (Tirta Tourism Savior Organization). Balawisata provides facility of rental equipment with fee Rp 100,000 per one snorkel for 45 minutes. Having been tired of doing activities at Ciletuh Geopark, you can still stay longer while enjoying the beauty of its nature. There are some camping grounds to set tent for staying overnight with fee only Rp 20,000. With the fee which is relatively cheap, you can sleep by being surrounded with amazing scenery, beginning from beach, rice field, and mountain. In addition, you can also witness exotic sunrise in the morning.

Hearing the name of the beach, Tanjung Menangis beach, certainly you feel a bit funny. Because the name of the beach was related to the past story. According to the story, Sultan Samawa was very sad to see his daughter lying down due to illness. Sultan had done anything but it did not bring about good result. Finally, Sultan held quiz that anyone who cured his daughter, would be married with her. Finally, a young man, namely Zainal Abidin from Lawesi land could cure the princess, but the Sultan broke his promise and even chased away Zainal Abidin.
The princess, who felt in love, chased Zainal Abidin. But she did know where she should go until finally she arrived at a bay. The princess, who was loyal to wait for Zainal at the bay, cried and cried without stopping and she contemplated her destiny. That is why the beach is called ‘Tanjung Menangis’ which means the crying cape.
Tanjung Menangis beach located in Sumbawa, Sumbawa Besar district, Sumbawa regency, West Nusa Tenggara province -NTT is well known on its beauty. The beach is clean; its water is see-through and has blue color. Its sand is very beautiful, having light brown almost white and fulfills as long as the beach. Melodious waves sound and fresh sea wind will make us feel comfortable at the beach.
Tanjung Menangis beach has also sea-park which is not quite wide, even though the sea park has many kinds of species of coral reefs and ornamental fish. Its location which is far from crowd certainly makes you be able to stay longer at the beach.
Although there is no public transportation which passes the route to Tanjung Menangis beach, you don’t have to worry, because it is not difficult to go to the beach. But you should rent car or use your own car. The trip takes around 30 minutes by car. The distance to Tanjung Menangis from Sumbawa city reaches around 20 kilometers.
Meanwhile, to go Sumbawa takes long time. From Lombok, you can use bus passing the route Mataram- Sumbawa and the ticket price is Rp. 65,000 per person. The trip takes around 3-4 hours. besides the beauty of its beach, at the end of Tanjung Menangis, there is also a tower which is often used to monitor the sea situation. Sometimes, visitors climb the tower and enjoy scenery of the sea. Although you feel a bit tense above, you will be amazed and may forget your fright when climbing the tower. Besides, some visitors also jumps to the sea from the cliff of Tanjung Menangis. They enjoy swimming at the sea. It is fun and tense, isn’t it. This activity is often conducted by almost all visitors who love sea.

Poncoh Village, Sleman regemcy located 15 kilometers from Mount Merapi. The region was affected by eruption of Mount Merapi in last 2010. Post-eruption, the village clean up and transformed into a tourist village in 2012. Poncoh Tourism Village offers a beautiful mountain atmosphere. In the area you can also enjoy a variety of ecotourism while doing environmental care activities. In the tourist village that can be reached within 1.5 hours drive from downtown Yogyakarta, those who come n the object will be treated to a variety of typical snacks, such as nogosari salak , ubi rebus or literally means boiled sweet potatoes, kelepon and slondok renceng, a typical snack from Poncoh.
In contrast to Slondok renceng snack in general, in Yogyakarta the snack is packed in a plastic bag. In Poncoh Tourism Village, slondok is tied into one bundle using a bamboo strap. Because of the packaging, slondok is called slondok renceng. The packaging of slondok with the model is consciously preserved because it is in line with the ecotourism village spirit which emphasizes on environmental sustainability. In the Poncoh tourist village, Slondok Renceng is served for welcoming the guests and tourists.
Slondok is made of raw cassava. After cleaned, the cassava boiled until half cooked, then let it cold for several hours and separated from the axis. The boiled cassava then milled in a special tool and mixed with fine garlic and salt to taste savory. Milled cassava is then formed a small circle like a ring and dried in a full day . After that, the slondok is fried until crunchy. Then tied into one renceng or string using a bamboo strap.
Slondok is made without preservatives. The seasoning is only rely on garlic and salt. Slondok is safe for the tongue since it is made of only somewhat flavorings. The delicious snack is usually eaten with warmed wedang ginger lemongrass, a typical drink of Mount Merapi area. You can buy Slondok Renceng as souvenirs from Poncoh Tourism village. One kilogram slondok is sold for Rp 6,500 to Rp 7,000. This snack can last up to several months.

A few people know traditional food in Ngawi regency, East Java. Actually In Ngawi regency, there are many traditional foods which are more delicious than other regions have. Take for examples: Lethok, Ledre, Wedang Cemue and Tepo Tofu. In today’s edition, we will discuss about ‘Tepo Tofu’. Tepo Tofu is the traditional food of Ngawi. It is from tepo, tofu and other ingredients. Tepo is from Javanese language meaning ‘cone’. It refers to the shape of Lontong which is used in Tepo tofu. This food at a glance looks like Tofu Lontong or Tofu Kupat. But, this typical food certainly has different taste. Lontong is a dish made of compressed rice cake in the form of a cylinder wrapped with banana leaf, commonly found in Indonesia. The taste of Tepo Tofu is quite unique. Its sauce is hot, sweet and sour. It is because its sauce is from soy sauce, Javanese tamarind water, as well as ingredients such as garlic, cayenne, palm sugar and salt. If we want to make Tepo Tofu, firstly the tofu is covered with egg and then, it is fried. After it is done, the Tofu is ready to cut along with Tepo and put it on the plate. Thus, this is added with slices of cabbage, bean sprouts, fried peanut and onion. And the last, it is poured with sauce on it and sprinkled with crackers. If you are curious to taste Tepo Tofu, you can visit Ngawi, East Java province.
West Sumatera is one of the provinces in Indonesia which is rich of diversity of nature. Most regions in West Sumatera are still natural and protected with West tropical forest. In the province, there are two national parks, namely Siberut and Kerinci Seblat. There are also some kinds of conservation, such as Rimbo Panti, Batang Palupuh, Harau valley, and Anai valley. At Anai valley, there is a waterfall which becomes tourism icon in West Sumatera, namely Lembah Anai waterfall. Lembah Anai waterfall is located at the roadside of main street which connects Padang and Bukittinggi. Precisely, the waterfall is located in Nagari Singgalang, Sepuluh Koto district, Tanah Datar regency, West Sumatera. Its height reaches 35 meters. Because the location is easy to be accessed, the tourism object becomes favorite destination for tourists who visit West Sumatera. Every weekend, the waterfall is always visited by a lot of tourists. The visitors can take a shower under the waterfall. Lembah Anai tourism complex is suitable for relaxing when doing long trip to Bukittinggi. The visitors can take pictures with the waterfall as a background. Surrounding the waterfall, there are also wild monkeys which occupy the waterfall complex. Lembah Anai waterfall has a distance 60 kilometers from Padang city. To access the tourism object, you can use land transportation. If you use public transportation, the trip can be accessed from Minangkabau international airport until Lembah Anai conservation by taking the time around one and half hours. Surrounding Lembah Anai, there are various facilities such as stalls along the road which serve various kinds of foods and beverages and souvenir shops. In addition, parking space and toilet are also available. If you want to set a tent, there is also camping ground over there.
Komodo National Park goes international after it officially becomes one of seven natural wonders of the world. The natural beauty in the region cannot be missed. Even, before entering the tourism object, you will be amazed on the natural beauty from its gate, namely Lawadarat island or in local language called ‘Gili Lawadarat’. Before arriving on Komodo island, tourists will pass Gili Lawadarat. The island is located at the North part of Komodo island and it includes in one island which has existed at Komodo National Park since 1980. Interestingly, here, you can find sea as well as cluster of exotic islands. Gili Lawadarat is one of islands which protects the biggest lizard habitat in the world besides Komodo, Rinca, and Padar island. Almost the entire island is overgrown with grass. Because the airport in Flores is near with Labuan Bajo. From Labuan Bajo, the trip is continued to Gili Lawadarat by speed boat for several hours.
