President Joko Widodo said that although the third quarter economic growth is predicted to be minus, the third-quarter economic growth is on a positive trend, at the opening of the cabinet plenary meeting on Monday (2/11).

Previously, the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) noted that Indonesia's economic growth in the second quarter of this year was at minus 5.32 percent.

The President said that national economic growth is still better than other countries.

"We know that yesterday in the second quarter our economic growth was at minus 5.32. In the third quarter, perhaps in a day or two this will be announced by BPS, it will also be in minus numbers," Jokowi said.

"Our estimate is at minus 3, a slight increase. And this is indeed much better when compared to other countries. But we should put pressure on the fourth quarter. So the third quarter is minus 3, and it is an improving trend. a positive trend," Jokowi said.

President Joko Widodo hopes that in the fourth quarter of this year expenditure realization must be at its maximum.

The Head of State asked his staff that the last quarter of this year should be fully utilized.

The President also reminded that the figure in household consumption is still at minus 4, so all parties are obliged to strengthen demand so that consumption becomes better. (VOI)

The Ministry of Health appointed two PCR swab test laboratories for travelers who are entitled to use the Indonesia and Singapore Travel Corridor Arrangement (TCA) facilities.
 
 "For business people from Indonesia (Batam) going to Singapore, the laboratories appointed by the government are Awal Bros Hospital and Medilab," said Head of Batam Class I Port Health Office, Achmad Farchanny in Batam, Monday.
 
 Important business travelers, diplomatic trips and urgent business trips are required to undergo a PCR swab test, a maximum of three days before departure, in accordance with the two-country TCA agreement.
 
 Based on the agreement also, upon arrival at the destination country, the eligible traveler must return to perform a swab test at the port or airport.
 
 "For business players from Singapore who enter Indonesia either through Batam or Soekarno Hatta Airport, the PCR examination laboratory appointed by the government is Indofarma (Farmalab)," said Farchanny.
 
 He said that until now no foreigner had entered Indonesia using the TCA facility.
 
 "Not yet. Not at Soekarno Hatta either," he said.
 
 The KKP also has not received data on the number of foreigners who have registered to travel to Indonesia with the TCA.
 
 Separately, Operational Manager of PT Synergy Tharada, manager of Batam Center International Port, Nika Astaga, stated that eligible travelers can start registering for TCA since 26 October 2020.
 
 "Until now, we do not know how many have registered," he said.
 
 He emphasized that his party is ready to serve eligible travelers arriving at Batam Center International Port.
 
 Swab test sampling room has been prepared around the arrival hall.  Equipment and equipment from Indofarma have also arrived.
 
 What is missing, however, is the PCR examination laboratory, which is expected to arrive on Tuesday (3/11).
 
 He said the PCR laboratory that would be stationed there was in the form of an ambulance, or a car.

President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) said that the economic growth in the third quarter of 2020 would be in the range of minus three percent, but this realization was better than in the second quarter of 2020 which was minus 5.32 percent.
 
 "So the third quarter may be minus three percent less, and that is an improving trend, a positive trend.  This should be emphasized later if there is an announcement from BPS, from 5.32 percent (second quarter) to minus 3 to minus 3 percent, ”said President Jokowi when opening a plenary cabinet session at the State Palace, Jakarta, Monday.
 
 The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) is scheduled to announce the realization of economic growth in the third quarter of 2020 on November 5, 2020.
 
 President Jokowi said that even though economic growth was still contracting, in the third quarter of 2020 the recovery was already visible.  The realization of economic growth in the third half will improve compared to the second quarter of 2020 which fell by 5.32 percent.
 
 Therefore, President Jokowi emphasized his staff to boost the realization of budget spending in the fourth quarter or the last half of 2020. President Jokowi hopes that with significant budget absorption in the fourth quarter of 2020, it will encourage economic activity to turn around so that it can bring the economy to a positive level.
 
 "In the fourth quarter of 2020, I convey this is very important, so that we can be even better, so that we can improve again, thankfully we can enter positively, so that spending, spending, must be after all of us," said President Jokowi.
 
 For the third quarter of 2020, the Gross Domestic Product (GDP), President Jokowi said that household consumption and investment expenditures are still at a negative level.  So the government will continue to strive to increase the stimulus to maintain people's purchasing power.
 
 "So it is our duty to strengthen demand, (demand) so that consumption will be better," said President Jokowi.

President Joko Widodo said that the cure rate for COVID-19 patients in Indonesia was getting better at 82.84 percent, above the world average of 72 percent.
 
 President Jokowi in his introduction during the Plenary Cabinet Meeting on the topic of Presidential Directives from the State Palace in Jakarta, Monday, said that the COVID-19 cases in Indonesia were below the world average of 13.68 percent while the world average reached 25.22 percent.
 
 "Alhamdulillah, as of November 1, 2020, active cases of COVID-19, we have 13.78 percent, the world average is 25.22 percent.  This is what we have to suppress, so that we can reduce the 13.78 again, ”said the President.
 
 He is also grateful for the better recovery rate at 82.84 percent, while the world is 72 percent.
 
 This, the President said, is also expected to continue to improve in the future.
 
 "What is still above the world average is the death rate, or death cases.  We are still at 3.38 percent.  The world average is at 2.5 percent.  This deserves our attention, "he said.
