The Ministry of Health appointed two PCR swab test laboratories for travelers who are entitled to use the Indonesia and Singapore Travel Corridor Arrangement (TCA) facilities.

"For business people from Indonesia (Batam) going to Singapore, the laboratories appointed by the government are Awal Bros Hospital and Medilab," said Head of Batam Class I Port Health Office, Achmad Farchanny in Batam, Monday.

Important business travelers, diplomatic trips and urgent business trips are required to undergo a PCR swab test, a maximum of three days before departure, in accordance with the two-country TCA agreement.

Based on the agreement also, upon arrival at the destination country, the eligible traveler must return to perform a swab test at the port or airport.

"For business players from Singapore who enter Indonesia either through Batam or Soekarno Hatta Airport, the PCR examination laboratory appointed by the government is Indofarma (Farmalab)," said Farchanny.

He said that until now no foreigner had entered Indonesia using the TCA facility.

"Not yet. Not at Soekarno Hatta either," he said.

The KKP also has not received data on the number of foreigners who have registered to travel to Indonesia with the TCA.

Separately, Operational Manager of PT Synergy Tharada, manager of Batam Center International Port, Nika Astaga, stated that eligible travelers can start registering for TCA since 26 October 2020.

"Until now, we do not know how many have registered," he said.

He emphasized that his party is ready to serve eligible travelers arriving at Batam Center International Port.

Swab test sampling room has been prepared around the arrival hall.  Equipment and equipment from Indofarma have also arrived.

What is missing, however, is the PCR examination laboratory, which is expected to arrive on Tuesday (3/11).

He said the PCR laboratory that would be stationed there was in the form of an ambulance, or a car.

His party has prepared several spaces to place the mobile laboratory. (Antaranews)
