Today on September 11, Radio Republik Indonesia (RRI) celebrates its 75th anniversary, themed Awakening for Advanced Indonesia.
President Joko Widodo sent a message to commemorate the day.
"For 75 years, RRI has been on the air, providing information and educating its listeners," President Joko Widodo said in a recorded message to RRI, on Thursday.
President Joko Widodo hoped that RRI would continue to be enthusiastic to be on air to educate the Indonesian people.
He also uttered RRI's motto that has echoed since Sept. 11, 1945. "Sekali di Udara Tetap di Udara", "Once on the air, always on the air," President Jokowi said. (RRI)
President Director Radio Republik Indonesia (RRI), M. Rohanudin, opened the RRI's 75th Anniversary Ceremony in Jakarta, on Friday.
"I would like to express my gratitude and highest appreciation to the RRI staffers throughout the country, who continue to work and make achievements," he said.
He told all staffers to stay enthusiastic about celebrating the day despite many changes in their course of work because of the pandemic.
"The various programs and activities that we have planned must change completely, according to conditions. All of this should not diminish our gratitude in commemorating the 75th anniversary of RRI," he said.
"This ceremony is an important moment to remind us of the determination contained in Tri Prasetya RRI as well as to make changes in the way we work" he added.
Rohanudin also encourage all the RRI staff to remain productive amid the Covid-19 pandemic.
"Discipline, mindset, flexibility, speed and accuracy and the use of technology must be a priority," he said.
The theme of the 75th anniversary of the radio republic of Indonesia "Awakening for Advanced Indonesia".
"This spirit must be reflected in providing information and entertainment services to people in Indonesia, through various broadcast programs that not only present information but also to act as a literacy medium educate the public," he said.
Romanudin said that RRI has proved itself, both at the international and national levels, through various awards it won.
"RRI also has presented new programs according to the people's needs during the Covid-19 pandemic. To make it easier for the public to access RRI's services, we launched RRIPlay Go, an application to access a variety of multi-platform services," he said.
He added that RRI will continuously improve and optimizes governance in the services and business development sector, human resources, general affairs, and the financial sector. (RRI)
ASEAN member countries held a meeting with the ASEAN Intergovernmental Commission on Human Rights (AICHR) Representatives on Thursday.
During the meeting, Indonesian Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi highlighted women's issues, including female migrant workers.
Retno said the number of ASEAN migrant workers is around 9.9 million worldwide, of which 48.7 percent are women.
"We ensure that during the pandemic, women have equal rights and access, including in health services," Retno said.
Retno said that Indonesia is focusing on women, including migrant workers in the AICHR table. Most of the AICHR representatives are also women.
Retno also asked AICHR to pay attention to Rohingya's irregular migrants.
The Rohingya refugees, who are often referred to as 'boat people', risked their lives and resorted to dangerous means to find a better life.
"Most of them are women and children," she said.
During this meeting, Indonesia also welcomed the adoption of the AICHR Five Year Work Plan 2021-2025. (RRI)
Today, the Public Broadcasting Institute (LPP) Radio Republik Indonesia (RRI) commemorates its 75th anniversary. RRI continues to make breakthroughs by utilizing digitalization technology.
President Director of RRI, Mohammad Rohanudin, stated that the spirit of struggle continues so RRI can be the pride of the Indonesian people.
"Now, the public's enthusiasm in the world for digitalization technology has entered a leap that makes people more inclined to play with digitalization," Rohanuddin said on Thursday.
Therefore, since 2013, RRI has been building digital technology with multiple platforms.
"This means that since 2013, RRI has entered multi-platform value. We are no longer just playing on the radio, we are playing in online digitalization in the world of television and so on," he explained.
Rohanudin said that all platforms must be carried out by RRI. One reason is RRI is responsible to provide intelligence to the community.
"We must approach whoever is in the RRI segment. RRI must have a way to approach all existing platforms, not to a radio platform alone," he said.
"Because the goal is that more listeners will listen to RRI and then watch RRI. Reading RRI's writings, the more intelligence will enter the conscience of the people to build good cultures desired by the state," he said. (RRI)
