Indonesia will again participate in the Anuga exhibition. This exhibition is the largest international food and beverage industry and will be held in Cologne, Germany on 5-9 October 2019. Under a concept of "10 shows under one roof," the exhibition will be attended by around 7,400 participants from 100 countries. Indonesian Ambassador to Germany, Arif Havas Oegroseno in a video press conference in Jakarta on Friday (9/8) said that the number of Anuga exhibitors from Indonesia increases.

"We will carry out various activities, including business to business, then lobbying between large importers and our entrepreneurs,".said Arif Havas Oegroseno.


At present, Indonesia is in the 5th rank in food and beverage export activities from Asian countries to Germany. Ambassador Arif Havas wants to see various aspects of trade not only goods but also services that could increase export penetration from Indonesia to Germany. The word Diaspora was once mentioned by President Joko Widodo when he delivered the Vision of Indonesia for the next 5 years on July 14, 2019. It was stated by Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi when she was the keynote speaker at the 5th Indonesian Diaspora Congress in Jakarta, Saturday (10/08). According to Retno, by mentioning the word Diaspora, it means the President gave appreciation, recognition, and hope for the Indonesian Diaspora.

"There is one word that is specifically mentioned by the President. That is the word diaspora. I am sure when the President mentioned the word diaspora, this is a recognition, appreciation, and hope for the Indonesian diaspora. I want to quote what the President said. We will give our development priority to the development of Human Resources. Human Resource Development is the key to Indonesia in the future. Let's take a look at what the President said next. We have to provide high-talented Diaspora in order to make a major contribution to accelerating Indonesia's development," said Retno Marsudi.

At the end of her remarks, Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi hoped that the Congress of Indonesia Diaspora can provide input to the government, especially in the context of strengthening Human Resources. (VOI / ACT INS / AHM)

The Fifth Congress of Indonesian Diaspora / CID-5) was officially opened in Jakarta, Saturday (10/8). The congress, organized by the Indonesian Diaspora Network-Global (IDN-Global), will take place in Jakarta until Tuesday (8/13). The theme of the congress is Empowering Indonesia's Human Capital. Chairman of the Indonesian Diaspora Network-Global (IDN-Global) Board of Trustees, Dino Patti Djalal, at the opening of the congress in Jakarta on Saturday (10/8) said the purpose of the conference was to focus on strengthening the role of the Indonesian diaspora in improving the quality of human resources of Indonesians. According to Dino, if the Indonesian Diaspora human resources are synergized with the government programs, the impact will be enormous.

"If the human resources in the Indonesian diaspora are synergized with government programs that focus on the development of human resources, the impact will be enormous. So, diaspora can function as an accelerator for the development of Indonesian human resources in the future and this could be the key for Indonesia to become the giant of Asia," Dino Patti Djalal said..

On the occasion, Dino Patti Djalal conveyed 8 aspirations of the Indonesian Diaspora, among others the establishment of the Indonesian Diaspora Board, the presence of Indonesian diaspora representatives at the House of Representatives, and the proposal on July 8 as the Indonesian Diaspora Day. President Joko Widodo reiterated the important role of the ASEAN Outlook when inaugurating the new ASEAN Secretariat building, Thursday morning (08/08/2019), in Jakarta. This condition is developing with increasing challenges, both in the region and in the global arena. The President said, the ASEAN Outlook initiated by Indonesia would be able to become a guideline for ASEAN countries to face dynamics in the region, especially in the Indo -Pacific.

“Within 52 years, ASEAN has been able to play a role as a motor for regional peace, stability and prosperity. And in June 2019, ASEAN leaders have adopted the Asean Outlook Indo Pacific. This Outlook holds and ASEAN's stance in responding to dynamics in the Indo Pacific region. ASEAN is concerned, with the sharpening of the rivalry of large countries and the weakening of multiculturalism and the frequent violation of international law. ASEAN Outlook in building momentum in a culture of strategic trust and mutually beneficial cooperation. ASEAN spread the value of dialogue and became a magnet in the development of dialogue. This is not an easy mission but I am sure, the mission can be carried out by ASEAN,” said Jokowi.

Through the ASEAN Outlook, countries in ASEAN will be able to take a role to bridge the Pacific and Indian Oceans. The ASEAN Outlook on the Indo-Pacific document states that the Indo-Pacific perspective is motivated by the Asia Pacific and Indian Ocean, which is the most dynamic region in the the world as well as the center of economic growth for decades.
