Mar. 3 -  The Meteorological, Climatological, and Geophysical Agency (BMKG) issued an early warning of the potential of moderate to heavy rains along with lightning and gusty winds in parts of Sumatra, Java, Sulawesi, and Kalimantan.

In that early warning of potential weather conditions on Wednesday, the BMKG forecast that the areas of Bali, Bengkulu, Banten, DKI Jakarta, Gorontalo, West Java, and East Java would experience moderate to heavy rains accompanied by lightning and strong winds.

Moderate to heavy rains would be experienced in a short period of time in West Kalimantan, South Kalimantan, and in most parts of Central Kalimantan.

Furthermore, moderate to heavy rains can also potentially occur in Lampung, Maluku, West Nusa Tenggara, East Nusa Tenggara, Papua, and West Papua.

Moderate to heavy rains accompanied by lightning and strong winds can potentially occur from mid-day in Central Sulawesi, Southeast Sulawesi, Jambi, North Sulawesi, West Sumatra, and South Sumatra.

Meanwhile, the BMKG also released early warnings of temperature rise and drop in air humidity, especially in Aceh Province.

Such conditions are estimated to increase the potential for forest and land fires in almost all regions of Aceh. (Antaranews)
