Voice of Indonesia presents Let’s Speak Indonesian, a program that introduces the Indonesian vocabulary and guides you to speak in the language. Mari Berbahasa Indonesia or Let’s Speak Indonesian is a joint initiative of Voice of Indonesia and the Language Development Agency of the Indonesian Ministry of Education and Culture.  Today’s topic is about Kesehatan which means Health.

Here is the conversation entitled “Berolahraga” which means “Doing Sport”. This dialog is between Kevin and Mela at the office. Mela squirms and feels hurt.

Aduh,  badanku kaku.

Kevin

In the dialog, you listen to an expression Sebaiknya kamu berolahraga (2X) which means You should do sport. It consists of the prefix ber- and the word olahraga (2X) which means sport. The prefix ber- has several meanings such as memakai (2X) which means using, mempunyai (2X) which means has and melakukan aktivitas (2X) which means doing an activity.The prefix ber- in the word berolahraga means doing sport. For example, Sebaiknya kamu berolahraga (2X) which means You should do sport.
