The Achievement of Handover of KCKR Savings to National Library Shows Positive Results

Publishers and producers of recorded works in Indonesia are disciplined in submitting printed and recorded works (KCKR) to the National Library of Indonesia (Perpusnas). During January-July 2021, the National Library of Indonesia recorded that 311,956 copies of KCKR were submitted by publishers and producers of recorded works. This year, the National Library of Indonesia is targeting 367,500 KCKR copies.

In a press release received by Voice of Indonesia on Tuesday (24/08/21), The Head of the National Library of Indonesia Muhammad Syarif Bando said that this compliance is something to be proud of in an effort to realize a national collection and preserve it as a result of the nation's culture. However, he asked his staff to collect the handover and save collections at the same time that they can be used by the community.

“The extent to which these works are used in our society. I as the Head really hope that my staff, can explain to the people of Indonesia and the world, that the works produced by intellectuals have been put to good use by the people of Indonesia and the world,” he explained in an activity with the theme 'Through SS Compliance. KCKR, Karya Bangsa Lestari Indonesia, Tough and Growing, held virtually on Tuesday (24/8/2021).

Syarif Bando also said that the library is an institution that bridges knowledge of the past, present, and future from all the works produced by writers in Indonesia. By submitting the KCKR collection, according to Syarif Bando, writers, publishers and producers of recorded works are special figures because they become a bridge of knowledge for the Indonesian people.

Meanwhile, Chairman of the Indonesian Publishers Association (Ikapi) Arys Hilman stated that access is one of the important factors that influence literacy activities. Therefore, he supports efforts to empower resources so that people can take advantage of literacy resources, such as libraries, bookstores, and mass media.

Ikapi noted that the number of electronic books registered to the National Library of Indonesia to obtain an International Standard Book Number (ISBN) continues to grow every year. In 2017, as many as 2,819 electronic book titles submitted received ISBNs, and increased in 2019 to 17,141.

General Manager of the Indonesian Recording Industry Association (Asiri) Braniko Indhyar explained that since 2018, his party has been trusted by the National Library to create and develop a system that helps record producers submit their recorded works to the National Library. Through online services, Asiri creates an ISRC request system (such as a song master number) that is integrated with the National Library of Indonesia deposit system//VOI
