Indonesia’s Thomas Cup badminton team went to the semifinal round of the tournament in Bangkok, Thailand, on Thursday after successfully beating Malaysian team 3-1.
Fajar Alfian/Rian Ardianto determined the team`s victory after defeating Aaron Chia/Teo Ee Yi 21-18, 10-21, 21-9.
The Indonesian pair actually has higher BWF (Badminton World Federation) ranking than their Malaysian oppents. However they had to work hard before they could finally beat them.
Indonesia’s men`s singles player Jonathan Christie overpowered Lee Zii Jia 21-15, 11-21, 21-13 to contribute to the victory.
The other point was contributed by the minions Kevin Sanjaya/Marcus Gideon after defeating Goh V Shem/Tan Wee Kiong 21-19, 20-22, 21-13.
