Indonesian racer Fadillah Arbi Aditama, 16, has been officially selected for Dorna’s Junior Talent Team for the 2022 FIM Moto3 Junior World Championship.
Dorna Sports is the organizer of several global motorcycle racing events. FIM Junior Grand Prix usually serves as a stepping stone for young riders for entering the higher level of MotoGP.
Aditama has been selected for the team along with Danial Sharil (Malaysia), Tatchakorn Buasri (Thailand), and Eddie O'Shea (English).
"I am very grateful for the opportunity. I will do my best to be able to get the highest achievements in the championship," he said, according to information posted on the official website of Astra Honda Motor on Saturday.
Aditama is an alumnus of Astra Honda Racing School 2019.
He stole the show in his debut at the 2021 Asia Talent Cup.
He performed well and consistently right from the test session at Losail Circuit, Qatar, which took place on March 19–21, 2021.
In the first round of the championship, Aditama recorded a time of 2 minutes 12.327 seconds in the qualifying session, just 0.471 seconds behind Japanese rider Taiyo Furusato, who recorded the fastest time.
The record made Aditama the third fastest rider in the session.
"I need to adapt as quickly as possible to compete with other racers from various countries, especially with the ones who are used to racing in European circuits,” he remarked.
Furthermore, he sought the support of all Indonesian people so that he can make the nation proud at the international racing event.
In addition to the 2022 FIM Moto3 Junior World Championship, the young rider will compete for Dorna Sports at the 2022 Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup//ANT
