The head of the National Library submits a report to the House of representative on the development of library that can be a key to people's knowledge -

Commission X of the House of Representatives (DPR) of the Republic of Indonesia encourages the National Library of Indonesia (NLI) to coordinate with relevant ministries and institutions in procuring formations and affirmations for librarians, both civil servants and government employees with work agreements (PPPK), at the central and regional levels.

This is reinforced by the statement of a member of Commission X DPR RI, Ledia Hanifa Amaliah, that the true need for librarian formation is very much needed in the effort to carry out library accreditation. So that the affirmation of the need for librarians must be proposed to the Ministry of Administrative Reform and Bureaucratic Reform (Ministry of PANRB).

“Why don't we pursue affirmations for PPPK librarians specifically, for example? So that later when we talk about wanting to accredit the library, there is already a librarian, so it's just a matter of adding a little to be an assessor," said the legislator from the PKS faction, in a hearing (RDP) between the National Library of Indonesia and Commission X DPR RI, Thursday (7/4). /2022).

Responding to this, the Head of the National Library of Indonesia, Muhammad Syarif Bando, explained that his party had submitted a written request to the PANRB Ministry for the addition of librarian PPPK staff. "For additional personnel, we have written to the PANRB Ministry regarding the addition of PPPK personnel. Hopefully there will be an answer from there," he replied.

According to a release received by Voice of Indonesia on Thursday (07/04/22), legislator Illiza Sa'aduddin Djamal, stated that the implementation of Law no. 13 of 2018 concerning the Handover of Printed and Recorded Works (SSKCKR), namely the processing of SSKCKR results must be carried out in accordance with the collection management standards for the handover of stored works set by the National Library of Indonesia. Furthermore, he questioned the standardization used by the National Library of Indonesia.

"We want to know the standardization used, and then if there are documents that are state secrecy, can they also be accessed for certain parties and or parties?" Iliza asked.

Answering the question, the Head of National Library explained that the standards used in processing SSKCKR results were in accordance with those carried out internationally. However, there is a difference in terms of placement.

“The management of printed and recorded works is carried out in the same way as the international standardization. However, only the placement is done specifically because it involves the issue of copy rights,” he explained.

On the same occasion, a number of legislators said that reading materials in the Frontier, Outermost, and Disadvantaged (3T) areas were not evenly distributed. Nasdem Party legislator, Ratih Megasari Singkarru, emphasized that it is not people who do not have the desire to read. However, access to reading materials does not exist, so he encourages National Library to be able to facilitate it.

In addition, member of Commission X DPR RI from the PKS faction, Sakinah Aljufri, hopes that the 3T area will be made a priority scale in terms of providing reading materials. This is based on the large natural resource potential (SDA) owned by the 3T area, but its human resources do not yet have sufficient capacity to process it//VOI
