State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) Minister Erick Thohir tasked Chairman of the Indonesian Digital Forum (Fordigi), Fajrin Rasyid, with compiling a digital transformation roadmap for the country.
Thohir gave Rasyid one month's time to formulate a digital transformation roadmap and concrete plans to be implemented in the near future.
“We need the roadmap to encourage digital talent. We also need software consolidation. I also encourage the SOEs Ministry to become the first ministry to implement e-government. This of course requires Fordigi's role as a very important backbone," Thohir noted in a written statement received here, Saturday.
The SOEs Ministry, Fordigi, and the Indonesian Telecommunication & Digital Research Institute (ITDRI) will implement the SOE Digital Talent Program aimed at building the competence and digital skills mindset of SOE employees.
"From the initial data, we only have one percent of digital talent. We must have at least 20 percent. Hence, Fordigi's task is heavy. However, I will ensure that this digital transformation will run well," Thohir affirmed.
Thohir has appointed PT Telkom Indonesia's Digital Business Director, Fajrin Rasyid, as the chairman of Fordigi, a forum comprising leaders of digital transformation in SOEs companies.
Fordigi, earlier known as the SOEs Information Technology Forum formed in 2011, is the SOEs Ministry's partner in developing a global standard digital ecosystem and talent in SOEs.
Thohir also emphasized the importance of strengthening synergies and accelerating digital transformation in SOEs to achieve Indonesia Gold 2045.
"We have to change our mindset to strengthen our capabilities, especially in the digital field," he emphasized.
This forum is expected to build SOEs' digital talent capabilities, improve governance, risk, compliance performance, develop effective technology adoption strategies in SOEs, develop an ecosystem as a forum for the community to develop digital talents, and collaborate in creating innovations to accelerate business models.
Deputy for HR and Information Technology of the Ministry of SOEs, Tedi Bharata, deems the role of IT in transforming the SOEs' business processes as being crucial, especially in the midst of the rapid pace of technological disruption in recent years.
Hence, Fordigi is expected to be able to assist the SOEs Ministry and all SOEs in accelerating the transformation process.
"In accordance with the minister's direction to increase digital talent, the SOEs Ministry along with ITDRI and Fordigi launched the SOEs Digital Talent Program. SOEs employees will participate in training programs, digital behavior and mindset learning, intrapreneur fundamentals, and growth mindset in the digital era," Bharata explained.
Fordigi has formulated five main programs divided into 15 work programs. These programs focus on accelerating the implementation of Privacy Data Protection in SOEs, developing shared learning and knowledge management platform, realizing One SOEs Data to support effective SOEs management, organizing activities to develop people's digital talents, and exploring the potential for inorganic business growth through venture capital synergies in various SOEs clusters//ANT
