Tesla CEO Elon Musk, who is also the new owner of the social media company, Twitter, will welcome President Joko Widodo in Texas, the United States of America in a series of working visits by the President of the Republic of Indonesia on May 14, 2022.

This news was disseminated by Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan from his Instagram account, on Tuesday (26/4/2022) local time, when he met with Elon Musk at the Tesla factory, located in Texas, USA.

"It is an honor to meet the President (Joko Widodo), I look forward to the opportunity," said Elon.

Meanwhile, Luhut was very happy with the enthusiasm shown by Elon, who showed interest in collaborating with Indonesia for batteries and electric vehicles.

"I can see enthusiasm and interest in his face. But I'm curious, why is Elon, who was a bit stiff with some policies related to the electric vehicle industry and nickel processing in Indonesia, now excited?" Luhut wrote.

Then Luhut also has another view, related to Elon's enthusiasm for cooperation with Indonesia, which is related to the reputation of President Joko Widodo.

"Is it because the rainy weather that has just fallen in Texas has brought its own blessings to our delegation team? Or is it indeed the figure of President @Jokowi who is considered by Elon as one of the 'reputable' Heads of State because he has proven to be able to keep the Indonesian economy stable even in a pandemic situation?" Luhut wrote further.

Luhut also said that Elon would immediately welcome President Joko Widodo to SpaceX, which is Elon's spaceship development company.

"Therefore, later on, May 14 during President Joko Widodo's state visit to the United States, Elon promised to change his schedule to meet directly with President Jokowi, who is also scheduled to visit SpaceX." wrote Luhut More.
