Minister of Health Budi Gunadi Sadikin said the government had not changed the policy of easing the use of masks outdoors.

According to him, even though the number of Covid-19 cases has increased, people are still allowed to not wear masks when they are outside.

"So outside (the room, Red) it is allowed not to use masks," said Budi after a limited cabinet meeting on the evaluation of PPKM which was chaired directly by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, Monday (4/7/2022).

However, Budi appealed to people in the room to continue to wear masks. Meanwhile, for people outside the room, he was also asked to continue to use masks under certain conditions.

"For special circumstances outside. For example, a very dense crowd or a lot of coughing near us, yes, or we ourselves feel unwell, we should still wear a mask," he explained. (RRI)
