President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) appointed the Minister of Home Affairs (Mendagri) Tito Karnavian, as the ad interim (temporary) Minister for Administrative Reform and Bureaucratic Reform (Menpan RB).

This step was taken to fill the vacancy after Tjahjo Kumolo died last Friday (1/7/2022).

This appointment was stated in a letter numbered B-596/M/D-3/AN.00.03/07/2022 signed by the Minister of State Secretary Pratikno, dated July 4, 2022.

"With regard to the death of the Minister of State Apparatus Empowerment and Bureaucratic Reform, we respectfully inform you that the President is pleased to appoint the Minister of Home Affairs as the ad interim Minister of State Apparatus Empowerment and Bureaucratic Reform, from 4 to 15 July 2022," the letter said, as reported by the letter. from the Kemenpan-RB page, Tuesday (5/7/2022).

Tito's appointment as the ad interim Menpan-RB took effect from the time it was signed.

To note, Tjahjo Kumolo died at Abdi Waluyo Hospital, Central Jakarta, after receiving intensive care for 13 days due to infection of the stomach and other internal organs, last Friday (1/7).

The body of the deceased was buried at the Heroes Cemetery (TMP) Kalibata, Friday afternoon.

Since Tjahjo was hospitalized, the position of Menpan-RB has been temporarily replaced by the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs (Menkopolhukam) Mahfud MD on an ad interim basis. (RRI)
