After two years of not opening direct family visits, The Nunukan Prison residents Class II B can meet their families after the prison opens family visits. The head of the Nunukan Prison, I Wayan Nurasta Wibawa, said that since the Covid-19 pandemic, inmates have been only allowed to communicate with their families online to avoid the spread of Covid-19 in the Nunukan Prison.
"We certainly don't want to take risks to the inmates, especially since there are s so many of them. So that in the last two years, communication with families has only been online," said Wayan, Monday (01/08/2022).
According to him, direct family visits can provide positive energy for the inmates by ensuring that the family is in good and healthy condition.
"When they meet their children, their wives will certainly feel calmer, and from the family, they can make sure that the inmates here are in good health," he added.
In addition to family visits, activities in prison are also back to normal, such as routine social and religious activities. (VOI)
