President Joko Widodo: The Sinking of Ship Gives Deterrent Effect Featured

President Joko Widodo views that the policy of every minister, including the sinking of foreign ship which catches fish illegally is for people’s goodness. The President said after opening  National Working Meeting of the Ministry of Agrarian and Spatial Planning/the National Land Agency in  Jakarta on Wednesday that the sinking is the form of law enforcement to be deterrent, so that there is no more illegal fishing in the Indonesian sea.

"…So, I convey to Susi. Now, the concentration is in order process industry of fish, especially which encourages fish export. Because our export decreases," the president said.

President Joko Widodo reminded Minister of Maritime and Fisheries Susi Pudjiastuti  to concentrate in industry of fish process to encourage the fish export. Because the Indonesian export of fish is decreasing. Previously, on Tuesday, Minister Susi Pudjiastuti affirmed that the sinking of foreign ship is to break the chain of fish thefts in Indonesian watersThe sinking is also listed in the Fisheries Act No. 45/2009. Minister Susi Pudjiastuti views that the sinking of the ship  is not the will of the President or the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries.
