The Australian Embassy for Indonesia collaborated with the Indonesian Photo Journalists (PFI) and the Jakarta Library to hold a photo exhibition entitled "Rise Up from the Pandemic" from 31 January to 5 February 2023 at the Jakarta Library, Taman Ismail Marzuki (TIM).

Australian Ambassador to the Republic of Indonesia Penny Williams in her remarks at the opening of the exhibition Tuesday (31/01/2023)
said, this photo exhibition is more than just an ordinary photo exhibition because the photos on display show people's struggles to rise from the pandemic.

He explained that the exhibition was held to celebrate the closer relations between the two countries.

"This pandemic has also demonstrated the strength of the friendship and partnership between Australia and Indonesia. Australia moved quickly to align our development partnership with the Indonesian national government's pandemic response," Penny Williams said.

"That's why we held this exhibition to celebrate the closer relations between the two countries and together we will rise from the pandemic," she added.

The photo exhibition “Rising from the Pandemic” features photos which are a collaboration between Australian photojournalist Alex Ellinghausen from the Sydney Morning Herald and The Age, as well as curated photos by Indonesian photojournalists through a competitive selection process. (VOI/ANI)
