Jakarta (voinews): The Tourism and Creative Economy Ministry held the Service Quality Improvement Training for business people in tourism and creative economic sector in Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB).

Lombok became one of the Super Priority Tourism Destinations (DPSP), so its human resources should be strengthened along with its infrastructure, Tourism and Creative Economy Minister Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno noted through a statement on Monday.

This is undertaken, so that tourism and creative economy players can receive all benefits from the infrastructure development in Mandalika, such as when a sports event is held, he remarked.

Resources and Institution Deputy at the Ministry Martini Mohamad Paham noted that the training was held on April 5-8, 2023, with the training participants' target of 320 people.

They comprise tourism and creative economy businesspersons in the field of tourism objects, restaurants, culinary gifting, and other creative industries that had been registered on the online platform.

Through the training, the ministry strives to provide support to businesspersons in tourism and creative economy registered on the digital platform to develop their business image and reputation.

This is undertaken by encouraging customers to provide positive reviews to improve tourists' trust and loyalty.

Moreover, in 2023, Indonesia once again became the host for the ASEAN Summit, which can be an opportunity for the country to promote its tourism diversity and drive economic growth, specifically in Lombok.

"Through this training, businessmen are expected to be able to immediately respond to the opportunity by improving their business service quality," he affirmed.

Meanwhile, Tourism Human Resources Director at the Ministry Florida Pardosi remarked that throughout the training, participants received various materials that match their business field.

These encompass hospitality, housekeeping, front office, food & beverage product and services, room division, attraction, and complaint resolution.

This training was developed to provide participants with knowledge and skills to improve their capacity in providing quality services and products and to receive better customer reviews, Pardosi remarked.

After participating in the training, businesspersons will also be given mentoring and coaching clinic, so that businesses, registered and verified on the online platform, can be utilized optimally to expand their customer base.

Pardosi stated that the training will also reach a total of 3,614 businesspersons in six DPPs and already had their businesses registered on the digital platform.

These DPPs comprise Lake Toba, BYP (Borobudur-Yogyakarta-Prambanan), Lombok, Labuan Bajo, BTS (Bromo-Tengger-Semeru) and Wakatobi.

Specifically in Lombok, the training targets 1,045 businessmen in Key Tourism Areas (KTAs): North Lombok, West Lombok, East Lombok, Central Lombok and Mataram City.  (Antaranews)
