VOInews, Jakarta: Vice President Ma'ruf Amin encouraged related parties to create a positive campaign strategy for the national palm oil industry which has been accused of causing climate change.

This was conveyed by the Vice President in his remarks as well as his direction at the inauguration ceremony for the 2023-2028 Indonesian Palm Oil Association (Gapki) Board of Directors at the Vice Presidential Palace in Jakarta, Wednesday. 2006.

Indonesia received a great blessing because the demand for refined palm oil products continued to increase, but this led to a negative campaign against the national palm oil industry.

According to him, the main argument of the negative campaign is that national palm oil is considered to damage the environment, destroy forests, absorb a lot of water, cause global warming, destroy peatlands, and the oil produced contains fat.

The Vice President said that all related parties must be able to communicate information and policies effectively and prove that efforts to develop the national palm oil industry still pay attention to the principles of sustainability and environmental friendliness. (Antaranews)
